⚽️ CHRISTMAS UPDATE 🌲 BROOKVALE WMIL CUP – IMPORTANT UPDATE ⚽️

Hi all,

Firstly, a massive thank you to all parents, players and families for your incredible commitment throughout 2025 🙏❤️. Yesterday’s session # # was our final football of the year, and looking back, it’s been brilliant to see our club thriving with three strong teams — the U12s and two U16s — all growing in numbers, confidence and togetherness 💪⚽️🟣🔵.

A huge thank you to our head coaches Jon (U16s) and Alex (U12s) 👏, and to coaches Paul, Nathan, Sarah and Emma for all the time, support and energy they’ve given this year 🙌.

We also want to give a massive shout-out to our FA Comets coaches, Leanne and Jade, for the amazing work they’ve done this year 🌟⚽️. Their energy, dedication and passion have been incredible for the players.

⚽️ NEXT FOOTBALL – WMIL CUP (Sunday 4th January 2026) ⚽️

Our next outing will be the WMIL Cup, which this year is being hosted by Aston Villa FC 🟣🔵 — a brilliant and exciting one-off venue for all our players.

Key details:
1. This is the WMIL Cup, so only WMIL teams can enter 🏆.
2. January is usually too cold for outdoor fixtures, so the usual June League Cup has been moved to January and will be played indoors 🏟️.
3. The event will take place at Brookvale Academy (B6 7DT), right next to Aston Villa’s training ground — a fantastic experience for everyone ⚽️🔥.
4. Age groups eligible: U12s, U14s, U16s, U21s 👥.
5. League fixtures restart from February 📅.

All U12 and U16 coaches will now be taking a well-earned rest, and we will post again in late December — just after Christmas — with updates and the availability poll 🎄💜.

Our FA Comets programme is more than just football, it’s a place where children aged 5–11 can be themselves, make friends and have loads of fun!

Our inclusive sessions offer adaptable activities, engaging challenges and positive encouragement so every child can take part comfortably and confidently.
Whether they love running around, learning new skills or simply being part of a team, we’ve got something for them.

🩵💜 West Midlands Inclusion League – U16 Update 🦉⚽

🔵🦉 Barnwood United U16 Blues – Division 1

A huge morning for our U16 Blues 🩵⚽ — full of passion, teamwork and fight!

✅ Blues 2–0 WBA Lemurs

Goals: Noah ⚽ and OG 🎯
The boys came flying out the blocks — high energy, sharp passing and proper desire. Noah smashed in the opener before constant pressure forced the second. Brilliant stuff! 💥🔥

❌ Blues 1–2 WBA Falcons

Goal: OG 🎯
Despite the result, the performance was outstanding. They battled for every ball, created chances and showed massive spirit right to the final whistle. 💪🩵

A proper shift from the U16 Clarets — goals, graft, bravery and team spirit in buckets! 💥⚽

Goal: Lucas ⚽
The lads pushed hard and competed superbly. Lucas took his goal brilliantly and the team showed real heart from start to finish. 💜🔥

✅ Clarets 3–1 Welland

Goals: Ethan (2) ⚽⚽ and Harry Freebrey from our own goal line 😳🔥
Ethan was on fire, finding the net twice, before Harry Freebrey launched an unbelievable long-range strike from our goal line — an absolute rocket! 💥🚀 One for the memory bank!

“The boys were fantastic today — huge effort, brilliant attitude and real togetherness. They showed resilience after the first game and came back stronger, which is exactly what we want to see. I’m really proud of every single one of them.” 💜🩵👏🦉

🧤 Massive Respect – Our Emergency Keepers

Huge congratulations to Caleb and Harry 👏🦉 who stepped in as makeshift GKs while our regular keeper recovers after a hospital procedure.
They were brave, focused, and absolutely superb. 🩵💜🧤💥

🦉 🩵💜Barnwood United Owls – U12 West Midlands Inclusion League Update

What a fantastic morning for our Barnwood U12 Owls in the West Midlands Inclusion League! The team played with huge heart, brilliant communication and loads of energy throughout both matches.

🗣️ Head Coach Alex said:

**“The kids did amazing this morning!! Also, it was Dillons and Noahs first competitive matches. I personally thought they did absolutely amazing and really showed great skill and teamwork.

The team really showed great teamwork and loads of energy against bigger teams this morning, which didn’t phase the kids in the slightest. They kept on going as a team pushing each other in two really close matches.

Well done kids 👍 super proud of you all!! 👏”**

Great session this morning. The team brought good energy and worked hard throughout the session. Everyone looked super smart in their new kits!
