We need you! 🫵Could you be a Forum Participant?

As a Forum Participant you will contribute thoughts, reflections and ideas that reflect the priorities of people living with mental health needs within your localities. This is to help the mental health system in Gloucestershire to be joined up, identify provision and training gaps and to co-produce solutions to problems.

We are looking for up to 5 Experts by Experience (EBEs) with lived experience of severe and enduring mental ill health (SMI), each working 8 days per year as a Rethink Forum Participant.

Forums are every three months.

Each Forum Participant would represent a locality (or multiple localities, provided that the Forum Participant can demonstrate a good understanding and links to each locality). The localities are: Cheltenham, Gloucester, Tewkesbury, the Forest of Dean, Stroud and the Cotswolds.

Together with Chinese Culture Connection we delivered a workshop on mental health awareness and wellbeing, including mindfulness and self care. It was fantastic to make a connection with such a warm and welcoming group, and the zither playing was beautiful.

Have you come across 'Connect and Offload (CandO)'?

It's a free helpline run by Rethink Mental Illness for anyone in Gloucestershire who's finding things a bit tough. It's also there for carers, friends, family and professionals who just need someone to talk to or some friendly advice.

We'd really like to hear your thoughts so we can make the service as helpful as possible.

If you can spare a few minutes, please fill in our short questionnaire – it only takes about three minutes, and your feedback will make a real difference.

Take part here: tinyurl.com/MHELOQQ1

Find out more about the helpline: gloucestershirecando.org

If you know someone who might benefit, please share this post — the more people who know about CandO, the more support we can offer across the county.

Thank you to everyone helping spread the word, especially our local partners at
