We so love pizza in our house. Try this gluten, dairy, egg, nut, soy and grain free.

Sweet potato pizza crust, recipe 👇🏼, topped with tomato paste, onion and broccoli 😋

Sweet Potato Pizza Crust .com

Ingredients:

For the crust:

2 sweet potatoes, peeled and diced (yields about 1 cup cooked sweet potato)
3 tbsp arrowroot starch
3 tbsp coconut flour
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp sea salt
Marinara sauce:

1/3 cup tomato paste
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried thyme
2-3 tbsp water
Sea salt and pepper, to taste
Toppings can vary, I've put some steamed broccoli on top of the marinara sauce 🙌🥦🍅

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400F.

Place the diced sweet potatoes in a steamer. Cover with a lid and steam for 10-15 minutes, until tender. Remove and cool.

Place the sweet potatoes in a bowl and mash with a fork or potato masher until smooth. Measure out 1 cup of mashed sweet potato and leave the rest for another recipe.

Add the sweet potato to a bowl with the coconut flour, arrowroot starch, dried oregano and sea salt. Mix until uniform. Set aside.

Make the marinara sauce by combining the tomato paste, dried oregano, dried thyme, water sea salt and black pepper in a bowl and whisking until mixed.

Prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and place the dough on top. Using your hands, spread the dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes, until hardened on top.

Top the pizza with the marinara sauce and your choice of toppings. Bake for another 10 minutes, until browned on the edges. Add fresh arugula or basil and serve immediately.

Turning to Reiki for Stress Relief

Stress is a normal part of life but when prolonged, it may have negative effects on our health. Working long hours, carrying out family obligations, stewing in traffic jams, coping with financial issues and running out of time to coordinate healthy meals all contribute to the high levels of stress in our lives. This build up of stress eventually creates imbalances in our physical, emotional and mental health.

Our stress can be handled in different ways. At times, we can choose to eliminate a stressful situation or instead remove ourselves from stressful surroundings. Unfortunately, it’s not always that simple. Managing stress can also be achieved through regular exercise or even a stress-reduction technique such as reiki.

During a reiki session, there are certain points on the body that practitioners focus on: the head, where we hold a lot of tension and stress; the heart, where we store our emotional memories; the stomach and solar plexus, where we hold a lot of tension, stress and worry; and the lower abdomen. By encouraging energy flow to these areas it creates an awareness of our bodies and emotions, allowing us to sense when stress levels are high.

Over time, reiki has become a more widely accepted form of healing. The hospital community has begun to recognize its benefits and as a result more research is being conducted to determine the full extent of its effect on both stress and anxiety. Past research indicated that patients who received six sessions of reiki showed significantly reduced signs of stress and depression. Re-testing one year later on those same patients showed that the positive results of the six reiki sessions remained in tact. Due to a better understanding of the positive impact of reiki, hospitals in England are now employing reiki practitioners to work with patients pre and post operative.

Tried and true, reiki is a safe, effective method for easing the symptoms of stress, building up the positive energy in the body and restoring a sense of well-being and balance.

How Cats Heal Us, Science Proves It

“If you put a cat and a bunch of broken bones in a room, the bones will heal,” states an old veterinary saying which is quite true. Our feline friends are not just adorable; they also provide us a good health. Cats not only make cue faces; they also provide us emotional support. Some ancient cultures also used to worship the cat for their contribution to the well-being of human. Various scientific studies suggest that pet owners live longer than those who don’t own a pet. Let’s see how:

What’s the Secret?

The secret is in the cat’s purr. Vibrations of cat’s purr are known to be in the range of 20-140 Hz which is medically proven to be helpful in treating various diseases. Here are the benefits of cat’s purr:

Petting a purring cat makes your nerves calm and reduces stress levels.
Cat’s purrs also decrease the symptoms of dyspnoea in humans.
Interaction with cat and listening to his purrs also reduces blood pressure.
Purr vibrations also help in healing swelling and infections.
These vibrations are also helpful for healing soft tissues. Cat’s purr vibrations help in healing injuries in muscle, tendon and ligament.
Cat’s purr with vibrations in the range of 25 to 50 Hz is the best for strengthening bones.

Also, playing with cats promotes the release of oxytocin in the brain. Oxytocin is a feel good chemical which reduces stress levels in the body. Also, serotonin and dopamine are released in the brain when you play with your cat. These chemicals make immune system stable, and are good for the body.

Cats don’t heal physically, but psychologically too:

Human-animal interactions make human more trustworthy, less aggressive and composed. When we play with pets, oxytocin is released which is a feel good chemical. When we feel good about something, we become more empathic and kind. Since cats or other pets don’t judge you, you can be yourself when you are around them. You are not self or social conscious when you interact with a pet, this makes you better person in all.

Spiritual healing, is indeed, a great gift to us from our feline friend

Breathe. So simple, isn't it? Just breathe and try to slow down the pace if feeling like having a panic attack or feeling anxious. There is nothing shameful to feel anxious or to be out of alignment. We are only human beings, we can't always be on 💯🤷‍♀️
There are days when I don't wanna get out of bed and there are days when I wake up b4 my clock alarm. But either way it's improtant to remain present in the now and breathe. Spend 10 min away form phones and laptops. Spend 10 mins breathing and just being there with our thoughts and feelings.
We don't realise how sometimes we get surprised by the attack of those negative feelings and emotional conditions. That's because we are too busy being busy 💃😅
Have 10 minutes a day placing your right hand on your heart and your left hand your stomach and just observe the connection between the different chakras while you are breathing 🧘‍♀️💨🙌

Beware Of People Around You, You’d Absorb Their Energy

Energy is everywhere, and its effects are real.
Have you noticed that the company you keep has a major impact on your energy levels? For example, one of the reasons you enjoy hanging out with your best friends or favorite relatives is probably because they have a beneficial effect on your mood. On the other hand, we all know at least a couple of people who are best described as “toxic.” These are the folk who seem to leave those around them feeling negative, drained or even depressed after just a short period of time in their presence.

The universe and everything in it is comprised of atoms, which are in part made up of energy. Therefore, we shouldn’t be surprised to learn that the kind of energy we transmit and encounter shapes our lives on multiple levels.

From plants to people

If you have ever gone for a walk to cheer yourself up, you will already know that being in a natural environment can have a soothing, healing effect on your mood. This is due to the energy transfer that takes place between humans, plants and animals. That's why being around nature is so uplifting and energising for so many people.

May we all have a wonderful and cheerful beginning of the new month 😉💃

The importance of having plants indoor

Houseplants are good for your health — and not just for their visual beauty. Why? They essentially do the opposite of what we do when we breathe: release oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide. This not only freshens up the air, but also eliminates harmful toxins. Studies have also proven that indoor plants improve concentration and productivity (by up to 15 percent!), reduce stress levels and boost your mood — making them perfect for not just your home but your work space, too.
At work, place plants, especially those with broad leaves, on your desk; they will help regulate humidity and increase levels of positivity — seeing greenery and nature help us feel more relaxed and happy, which in turn benefits your every day mood. Indoor plants serve a practical and aesthetic purpose, and will enhance your life.
An indoor garden can be your refuge from the outside world, and for many people it is a source of great joy. Whether you live in a small apartment, or a large house, by introducing certain plants into your home, you will start to notice improvements to your health and overall happiness. As well as enhancing your mood and creating a living space that is soothing to be in, plants can also help with loneliness and depression: caring for a living thing gives us a purpose and is rewarding — especially when you see that living thing bloom and thrive.
I personally love the presence in the room of my plants, it relaxes me and helps me charge with positive energy 🧘‍♀️💫🙏❤
