Allegra Care's Household Model is about supporting residents to continue to enjoy all their favourite past times and sunny days mean even more opportunities for everyday activities. Blossom Fields' resident David loves the outdoors and relishes the opportunity for fresh air, and part of his routine is feeding the koi carp that live in the home's grounds. David is also the unofficial gardener's assistant!

What a beautiful day for an outing to a garden centre. Olive Tree House and Rose Garden residents had a great morning out at Almondsbury Garden Centre, looking at plants and gifts along with enjoying a drink in the cafe.

A lovely trip, and thank you as always to Four Towns & Vale Link Community Transport and driver Dave who joined everyone for a drink.

This week's Thursday afternoon Concorde Cafe get-together was St George's Day, so that was obviously the theme of the day!

There was the opportunity for some mindful colouring and biscuit decorating as well as lots of tea and chat. It was a lovely afternoon with residents, families and the team spending quality time together.

Hello Again.....

It was a welcome back to the fabulous Nick from Mini Concerts this time with his Neil Diamond show.

It was a great afternoon of entertainment, and of course the classic and residents' favourite "Sweet Caroline" got everyone singing along.

It's been all about music this week at The Grove with visiting performers Andy T and Louisa from Alive Activities.

Andy T's energetic performance saw residents up and dancing as well as making everyone laugh! Laughter is such a tonic, and Louisa also made residents laugh with a warm-up with a giant ball going round the room and feathers! Music and laughter - a perfect combination.

Blossom Fields’ residents love their exercise sessions with Nick, and this week it was Kurling. Kurling is the indoor version of the Winter Olympics sport, Curling. It got very competitive, and congratulations to Malcolm, who was the overall winner.

Nick is excellent with the residents, judging the level of support each residents needs and ensuring all can join in. Exercise benefits everyone, and for older people, keeping moving is so important for physical and mental well-being.

With the sun shining down on Bristol, it was the perfect opportunity to do some gardening at Olive Tree House and Rose Garden.

Residents enjoyed planting summer bulbs; they then put the pots out onto the balconies to germinate. It was a lovely opportunity to get out in the sun, and residents really enjoy gardening; so many residents have enjoyed a lifetime of gardening and love imparting their knowledge. It is now time to wait for the blooms 🌸

This week Blossom Fields celebrated the life of much-loved resident David. David was well known in Winterbourne and a gentleman who touched the lives of so many, including the team and residents at Blossom Fields.

On Monday the home held their own "celebration of life". David's family attended along with the team and residents. There was a memorial tree on which photos of David and special messages from staff were hung. David's family brought floral gifts for some of David's friends, which were greatly appreciated. Blossom Fields Deputy Manager Jude made a toast to David and said a few heartfelt words. David's daughter Pam also spoke, thanking Blossom Fields for the wonderful care and friendship which her father received during his time at Blossom Fields.

Yesterday some of the team walked to St Michael's Church, for the official celebration of life, it was a beautiful service for a gentleman who was loved by so many.

Happy St George's Day! 🇬🇬

Blossom Fields celebrated the day with a fun trivia quiz on the history of St George and how celebrating on the 23rd April began. The team and residents wore patriotic red and white, which looked great all around the home.

Today there was a convoy as Blossom Fields went out for a visit to West Country Water Park! The home team took a minibus full of residents, and they were joined by families who went along by car. It was great to have so many people come along for what was a very enjoyable afternoon. Tea and hot chocolate were enjoyed as everyone sat watching the water.

Thank you to the brilliant driver Frank from Green Community Travel who also joined everyone for a drink.
