👏 Fantastic as always for students to be collaborating with Head2Head Sensory Theatre!

They've done some great work together around and in theatre and we're very excited to see what's in store for April's performance 👀

🧦 Throughout the week we’ve been repping
as part of our World Down’s Syndrome
Day and Down’s Syndrome Awareness Week celebrations. Today is just one of many where the fabulous young people at are celebrated for their determination, resilience and achievements, encouraged to be who they are, do what they love and continue to break societal barriers ❤️

If you missed yesterday’s post from the students talking about how they’re celebrating today, make sure to check it out!

? How about a whole Careers Month!

Our Careers Lead Paulette has done a brilliant job at putting together lots of extra activities and challenges throughout March, in addition to the ongoing support we give throughout each student's time at to help them find their paths and skills.

One of these activities was Meet the Mannequins, with a focus on dressing appropriately for the job you'd like and aligning different jobs and employability skills to each mannequin such as Leadership, Teamwork and Problem Solving - skills which all our mannequins may have no matter how they're dressed!

Stay tuned for more Careers Month updates 👀

🖼️ What better way to make our reception and entrance even more welcoming than with original student artwork?

Two of our artists Tommy and Amie are very excited that their artwork is up proudly on the wall, their pieces created during the yearly Who Am I? Project and inspired by what makes them who they are 🙌

🌱 It was a pleasure to work with Surrey County Council on this video about their Climate Essentials Carbon Calculator.

Hear from our Chief Operating Officer Moira and students Luke and Evan as they talk about the centre, the importance of looking after our environment and how Climate Essentials has been a helpful tool for us as we work towards Net Zero.

“I’m proud to be part of this work and the wider decarbonisation programme Surrey County Council is leading” - Moira, COO.

👏 We’re very excited for our short film ‘I Cannot Do A Cartwheel’ to be featured at Oska Bright Film Festival’s Emerging Talent collection on 30th March, and to be part of such an important festival that showcases the work and talents of people with learning disabilities and raises awareness of the very small percentage of learning disabled people currently within the film industry.
