Bridgewater Day Care is a home away from home, local community centre for adults. We offer a 2 course cooked lunch & snacks and drinks throughout the day .

We provide daily activities, socialisation, nutritious meals, and personal care, all from the comfort of the day centre 💙

Specialising in support for the elderly and those living with a form of memory loss, the service allows older people to create new friendships, engage in hobbies and activities both past and new, maintain mental stimulation and much more! Giving family carers respite and the peace of mind that their loved ones are in excellent hands.

Our wonderful group spent the morning enjoying arts and crafts, painting beautiful handmade designs and expressing themselves through color and creativity. Activities like these aren’t just fun—they help support memory, encourage conversation, and bring a real sense of achievement and joy.

It’s always amazing to see how something as simple as a paintbrush can spark smiles, connection, and confidence.🖼️🖌️🎨

Yesterday we had a very special visitor at the day centre – Waffle 🐶💛

Pet therapy visits like this bring so much joy, comfort, and connection. Waffle certainly made himself at home, sharing cuddles, smiles, and plenty of wagging tails with everyone. It’s amazing to see how animals can lift spirits, spark conversation, and create such lovely moments.

Tackling Loneliness Head On

Loneliness among older adults is more common than many realise. It can creep in gradually — especially after bereavement, retirement, or reduced mobility.

Left unaddressed, isolation can impact confidence, mood and even physical health.

A good day care setting offers more than activities. It creates connection. Shared laughter. Familiar faces. A reason to get ready in the morning.🥰
