🏃‍♂️ Runners – are you taking care of your body like you train it? 🏃‍♀️

Sports massage and dry cupping aren’t just recovery tools—they’re essential practices to help prevent injuries before they stop you in your tracks.

Why Does It Matter? 🤔
Running puts repetitive stress on your muscles, joints, and connective tissues. Without proper recovery and maintenance, tightness, imbalances, and poor circulation build up—leading to overuse injuries.

🔹 Common running injuries & causes:
✅ Shin splints – often from overtraining or poor footwear
✅ Runner’s knee (patellofemoral pain) – caused by muscle imbalances or poor tracking of the kneecap
✅ Plantar fasciitis – from tight calves, weak foot muscles, or poor arch support
✅ IT band syndrome – linked to tight hips or improper running form
✅ Achilles tendinitis – caused by calf tightness or sudden increases in mileage. “Too much too soon”

💆‍♂️ Sports massage helps reduce muscle tension, increase blood flow, and improve range of motion.

I’m 28 years old and played football for 23 years. Not once had any serious injury that has kept me out for more than 4 weeks which I’ve always felt pretty lucky.

However after having not kicked a ball for over 3 months I’ve finally been able to start some physio for my knee.

Not being able to train my legs for over 3 month, I have been humbled by how tough I found these exercises 🤣.

But also grateful that the road to recovery has started.. Still a long way to go but we are on the right tracks 🙏

Although long term injuries have physical effects, it’s the others that are harder to overcome.

- Seeking that adrenaline rush that only the battle on the pitch can give you.

- Being away from the lads
- Watching on but not being able to do anything.
- The feeling after a tough game.

It’s all part and parcel 💯
