The aim of Dermaplaning, brightening the skin.

The process is gently scraping off the hair from your face to exfoliate the top layer of dead skin cells and increase the efficacy of skincare products. As for the old wives’ tale that shaving makes your hair grow back twice as fast and twice as thick, clearly no one told them that facial fuzz is vellus hair rather than the dark, thick terminal hair that grows elsewhere. “Shaving does not in any way cause vellus hair follicles to transform into terminal hair follicles – that’s just not possible,” explains cosmetic surgeon Dr David Jack, one of the first doctors to bring the treatment to Britain. Make-up will go on smoother, and you’ll get better results from skincare products as they can penetrate deeper.
