Anyone who knows me knows I love my job. I find I can get on with most people but every now and then I met someone who I instantly click with. Earlier this month I met with a wonderful lady called Ann whose mum had passed away.
I often met people at one of the saddest points in their lives and with some families, my visits are quiet and sombre...Ann was beginning to come to terms with losing her mum and we sat and discussed her wishes for her mum's service.
Afterwards we just sat and chatted generally and we laughed and laughed...I loved her! She was therapy for my soul!
She sent me this and I love her even more now....
"It's been a few days since Mum's funeral, time enough to process my thoughts.
I've had some lovely feedback from family and friends since Tuesday - both from those present and those watching from a distance.
I have answered everyone the same - it is all due to your kindness, professionalism and warm personality that the whole thing came together.
Your patience as I rambled when you visited, your warmth, empathy and understanding tangible from the moment you arrived.
You held my hand and guided me through a difficult time.
Somehow 'thank you' does not seem adequate but it's all I have.
From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU.
You are truly amazing, I could not have given mother such a great send off without you.
As a person, I feel we really connected and you were so open and honest. I will always be grateful."
