The NHS is urging residents to think ahead and use services wisely this Easter.

With the school holidays starting on the 3 April, NHS Kent and Medway is encouraging parents and carers to be prepared by keeping a well-stocked medicine cabinet at home and ordering repeat prescriptions in good time.

Families can download our booklet https://www.kmhealthandcare.uk/download/nhskmprimary-schooldigitalpdf.pdf?ver=4122&doc=docm93jijm4n1270 aimed at children aged five to 11-years-old, which has information about common childhood health issues, things you should have at home and what to do if your child is unwell.

GP practices will be closed over the bank holiday weekend. If you feel unwell, get advice from your local pharmacist and don't wait for it to get more serious. Check the opening times of your nearest pharmacy. https://www.nhs.uk/service-search/pharmacy/find-a-pharmacy/

Urgent treatment centres are open every day and treat minor illnesses and injuries such as sprains, minor burns and broken bones. Live waiting times for urgent treatment centres can now be found at www.kmhealthandcare.uk/urgent-care

Dr Kate Langford, chief medical and outcomes officer at NHS Kent and Medway, said: “The long bank holiday weekend places extra pressure on health services and while it's important to come forward with any health concerns, you can help ease the pressure by choosing the right service.

“If you are not sure what to do, contact NHS 111 online or by phone, or visit www.StopThinkChoose.co.uk to find information about local health services.”

MEET THE TEAM

Sally Morrison-Booth, Reception

After working for 20 years in investment banking in Paris and London, I left to raise my wonderful family and it also allowed us to bring into the fold our gorgeous dogs and cats. Now that my twins have left for university, I am delighted to have the opportunity to learn something new again by joining the fantastic team here at the Old Parsonage, and I always enjoy speaking with our lovely patients.

I’m a keen skier, love exploring new countries, going on long dog walks and this year I did a 12,000ft skydive to raise money for SE Dog Rescue – thankfully the parachute worked! I really look forward to meeting more of you as the time goes on.
