🌿 Supporting Independence, One Step at a Time 🌿

We always try to support our residents’ independence as much as possible. Yesterday, Charlotte and Gerald enjoyed a lovely walk in the sunshine around the local neighbourhood, followed by a trip to the shop.

Along the way, Gerald shared happy memories about his wife, his dogs, and the scenery around him. It was a joy to see him so relaxed and smiling.

Gerald chose his own items and paid for them himself, it’s the simple moments like these that mean the most 💛

We’re really looking forward to its arrival and exploring how it can enhance daily activities and experiences within our home. Watch this space!

We were delighted with the response to our recent Tiny Tablet presentation, which truly went down a storm with staff, residents, and family members alike. Seeing the enjoyment, interest, and positive engagement from everyone involved reaffirmed our decision to invest in this fantastic resource.

We are honoured to be participating in Evelyn's Butterfly Effect - Garden of Hope 🦋.

Local groups will be painting butterflies symbolising hope, resilience and empathy.

Alice has made a beautiful job of painting 1 of the 3 butterflies we have, that will be included in the Garden of Hope.

The Garden of Hope installation, led by Evelyn's Butterfly Effect, will feature 98 large steel butterflies, each representing a life lost to su***de in Lincolnshire in 2024.

The display will launch at Belton House in March and tour the country before returning to Grantham House in September.

We were delighted to welcome the wonderful Andy Greaves, all-round entertainer to our home. 🎤
Our residents absolutely loved singing along, clapping to the music and sharing plenty of laughs throughout the performance.

It was a joyful afternoon filled with music, smiles and great entertainment – thank you, Andy, for bringing so much happiness to our residents! 😊🌟

We had a wonderful visit on Friday from Zoolab 🐍🐌🪳

They brought along a fascinating range of animals, including snakes, snails and cockroaches, giving our residents a unique and hands-on animal therapy experience. There were lots of smiles, curiosity and great conversations as everyone enjoyed learning about and interacting with the animals.

Animal therapy has many benefits for our residents, including:

🧠 Stimulating memory and conversation
😊 Boosting mood and reducing anxiety
🤝 Encouraging social interaction
❤️ Providing comfort, relaxation and sensory engagement

We had a great presentation today from the wonderful James at Tiny Tablet Limited.

He explained and demonstrated all the brilliant features of the Tiny Tablet, showing us just how much it can support connection and engagement.
Staff, residents and family members all really enjoyed the session and found it both informative and inspiring and we especially loved having a go ourselves!

Having seen just how successful the Tiny Tablet has been in our other homes and the very positive impact it has had on our residents' wellbeing, we are now exploring investing in a Tiny Tablet for Red Court too!

Tiny tablets are specially designed for care settings, helping residents stay connected, stimulated and engaged. From video calls with loved ones and interactive games, to music, reminiscence activities, gentle exercise sessions and so much more.
