Last week we went down to the local Christmas tree festival at the church and saw some beautiful trees. We wrote and decorated a few of our own baubles to add to the trees. So nice to have these things on our doorstep 🎄⛪️❤️

At Bright Stars we’ve been learning about the Chinese new year. We have been doing lots of tasks and activities round this. This year the lucky colours are red,yellow and black so we used these colours to make our own snakes. The children each cut out their own pieces, practising their cutting skills. We also used the snakes as an opportunity to do number bonds to 10 and made sure each snake had ten pieces. We also incorporated the use of patterns that we had been learning the week before, which helped them create repeating patterns on their snake. A great way to incorporate lots of different skills in one task whilst learning about a new topic❤️🐍

Is anyone wishing for a white Christmas? The children at bright stars are! It was great to experience a snow day here where the children could make snowmen together, make snow angels and have snowball fights as well as be pulled on the sleigh! A few weeks ago the children and I visited the Christmas tree festival at St Wulframs church what a wonderful way to start of Christmas and get into the Christmas spirit! One of my favourite crafts this year personalised to each child 🤍 each piece of ribbon is the length of the child. Not only does it make a pretty decoration but is a lovely keepsake! Next year a new one could be made to compare starting a lovely tradition🎀🎄
