As many of our lovely clients know, Elena and Lucia proudly come from three generations of podiatrists – with Elena’s mother-in-law also a chiropodist! 👣

So, to keep the tradition going… we thought it was only right to start training the next generation early 🐶✨

Introducing Ruby, our beautiful cockapoo, now officially in training to become a paw-diatrist! 🐾

From April, you can now book your furry friends in for a pawdiatry appointment alongside your own visit – because healthy paws matter too! 🐕💅

(We can’t promise she won’t ask for treats as payment…)

We’ve been busy behind the scenes carrying out needling treatments for those stubborn verrucae 👣 just in time for the spring/summer season!

Needling works by stimulating your body’s immune response – encouraging it to recognise and fight the virus by creating antibodies. It’s a really effective treatment, but it does take time ⏳ (a few weeks to a few months) for your body to respond, so planning ahead is key if you’re hoping for clear skin for the warmer months.

Did you know we can also treat warts on the hands too? 🙌

Please note, this procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic to ensure comfort throughout.

What a gem Grantham House-National Trust is on a sunny spring day like today! ☀️🌿
I really enjoyed a brisk walk around the gardens in my lunch hour — so central, yet amazingly quiet and tranquil. We’re so lucky to have this beautiful National Trust property right in the heart of the town.

Have you been to see the gardens? I didn’t have time to stop for a coffee today, but I’ll definitely allow more time next time ☕️

We’re back from Northampton after a really valuable verrucae needling and Local anaesthesia revision day. It was great to refresh our knowledge, refine technique, and share experiences with fellow podiatrists.

We also learned a few unexpected (and slightly unsettling! 😄) things… especially about Demodex mites — tiny organisms that are part of our normal skin microbiome and apparently “clean” our faces overnight… so yes, definitely wash your face in the morning!

And then there are bacteriophages — viruses that infect and destroy harmful bacteria in our bodies (and surprisingly… they look quite cute see pic below!).

A long journey on our day off, but absolutely worth it to keep improving what we offer our patients at Footsteps Podiatry Grantham.

We’ve had a few new followers joining us recently, so we thought we’d re-introduce ourselves 😊

We are Footsteps Podiatry Practice, a family-run podiatry clinic in Grantham, and we genuinely love what we do. We’re a caring, friendly team who are passionate about helping people stay comfortable, mobile, and pain-free.

What do we help with?

Our treatments are split into two main areas:

Podiatry:
This covers all skin and nail conditions, including:
• Corns and hard skin
• Damaged, thickened, problematic or fungal nails
• General foot discomfort related to skin or nail issues

MSK (Musculoskeletal) & Pain Management:
We support patients who suffer with pain in the feet or further up the leg, offering:
• Treatment for heel pain, plantar fasciitis, and ball-of-foot pain
• Laser therapy for inflammatory and painful conditions
• Biomechanical assessments for gait problems or those who may benefit from orthotics

We also:
• Administer local anaesthetic to permanently resolve ingrowing toenails
• Carry out verruca treatments where appropriate

Every patient is treated as an individual. We take the time to listen, explain what’s going on and tailor treatment specifically to you.

🇹🇭 Thailand memories – Bangkok & Hua Hin ☀️🌴

I’ve recently returned from an incredible trip to Thailand – 4 days in Bangkok and 7 days in Hua Hin – travelling as part of a group of 10 golfers ⛳️
While the golfers were busy on the courses (I’m very much a non-golfer! 😄), I fully embraced exploring, culture, and soaking up everything Thailand has to offer.

It was extremely hot and humid, but absolutely worth it. In Bangkok, I joined an unforgettable excursion taking in the Grand Palace, the Reclining Buddha, travelling through the canals by long-tailed boat, and wandering through vibrant local markets. Bangkok is loud, colourful, chaotic, and fascinating all at once.

One real highlight for me was visiting the Jim Thompson House. Jim Thompson was an American architect and former OSS officer who played a huge role in reviving the Thai silk industry after World War II. He helped bring Thai silk to international fashion houses and designers, putting it firmly on the global map. His beautifully preserved traditional Thai home, filled with art and history, felt like a calm oasis in the middle of busy Bangkok – and his mysterious disappearance in Malaysia in 1967 just adds to the intrigue.

This trip was also a first for me – travelling this far from home, and it was such an eye-opening and unforgettable experience.

And then there was this moment… spotting a tuk-tuk advertising a podiatry clinic.
Of course, I couldn’t resist taking a photo! Podiatry marketing on three wheels in Thailand – it made me smile and reminded me that podiatrists really are everywhere 🌍.

From bustling Bangkok to the more relaxed coastal vibe of Hua Hin, this trip had the perfect mix of culture, heat, adventure, and laughter.

I’m now back to reality and back to work, and I’ll be attending to feet again from Monday.

"I just wanted to thank you for the call last week, I’d never considered Raynaud’s because I don’t get it in my fingers… now I’ve looked into it I’m almost certain that is the problem with the painful coldness. For almost a year I have been complaining about them to other medical professionals and being shrugged off as just one of those things! I can now work on managing them a bit better".
