Lily Parr is one of the greatest footballers of all time. She played in front of 54,000 during WW1. Had a left foot to die for, a strike ‘like a mule’, and scored 43 goals in her first season.. she wasn’t yet 16.

In 1921, the FA banned women from playing association football saying: 'The game is quite unsuitable for females and ought not to be encouraged' and Lily’s dream of a professional football career was over. And the dream of millions of girls and women FOR DECADES were never to be imagined, let alone realised.
.She’d have bloody loved Alessia Russo’s back heel, nutmeg goal.
