What's in a name?
It may seem obvious to have 'barefoot' in a business that predominately deals with feet - but it is more than that. For anyone who has endured my rantings about shoes and how much damage they cause our feet, they will know that this topic is close to my heart. This will be a future post. Going barefoot doesn't just mean treating out feet to a workout, it also means to be mindful of each and every step we take, and this is something we could all become better at.
A besom is a broom mostly associated with witchcraft, but it is symbolic of sweeping away bad energy. Superstition states we should keep a besom by our door so we can sweep bad luck away from our threshold.
The plant 'broom' is part of the Ogham alphabet and symbolises harmony, flexibility, cleansing and healing. Besoms are often made from the twigs of birch trees; the birch symbolises new beginnings.
Whether you are drawn to reflexology because you want to relax, or have an ailments such as an aching back or a sluggish metabolism, or feel ungrounded and lack clarity, this treatment can assist healing. I'll post more in the future.
In the meantime, whip off your shoes and treat your feet! Walk barefoot on grass, sand, soft pebbles - really get your feet feeling different surfaces and textures. You'll feel better for it!
