Withens Nursing Home is a carefully designed care home that supports residents to live happy, fulfilled and comfortable lives.

Withens Nursing Home is situated in a pleasant rural location. We provide person centred and meaningful Nursing and End of Life Care in a vibrant, engaging and resident led community. Our established Nursing and Care teams are dedicated to ensuring the highest standard of care, where respect, dignity and choice are at it's centre. Located over two floors, our home includes a light and airy lounge and dining room, as well as a beautiful conservatory overlooking the gardens. Spacious bedrooms, and a variety of communal spaces such as a quiet room and hair salon. Our landscaped gardens are wheelchair accessible and designed to be a welcoming place for people to relax. We are a home from home where family is at the heart of everything we do.

Today at The Withens, we celebrated a very special birthday… Happy Birthday, Sheila! 🎉🎂

Although Sheila is cared for in bed, that certainly didn’t stop her from having a lovely and meaningful day. Her room was filled with warmth, with balloons, birthday treats, and most importantly, the company of her wonderful family who spent time with her throughout the day.
There were plenty of smiles and laughter, and a truly heartwarming moment when the team sang Happy Birthday—Sheila was so happy she shyly hid her face behind her birthday card, smiling all the way through. 💖
Days like today remind us that celebrations don’t need to be big to be special—it’s the love, care, and togetherness that truly matter.

Today we celebrated a very special birthday here at The Withens for our lovely resident Kevin! 🥳

Kevin enjoyed his day surrounded by fellow residents and his wonderful family, making it a truly special occasion filled with smiles, laughter, and great company.

Of course, no birthday is complete without cake… and there was plenty to go around! 🍰 Everyone had a fantastic time celebrating together and making Kevin feel extra special on his big day.

🚓💙 Blue Light Breakfast Drop-Off – Showing Our Appreciation 💙🚓

It was that time of the month again where we continue one of our favourite traditions – our Blue Light breakfast drop-off!

This month, we once again had the pleasure of visiting our local Kent Police to show our appreciation for all the incredible work they do to keep our community safe.

We arrived with a delicious breakfast hamper, filled with homemade hot breakfast baps (sausage, egg & bacon of course! 😋), along with a selection of juices and tasty goodies to help kick-start their day.

A special shout-out to Nicole Carter, Community Safety Inspector, who has recently joined the Kent team. It was lovely to meet you and have a quick chat – we’re so glad you enjoyed the breakfast hamper!

Thank you to all the team at Kent Police for everything you do. We hope you enjoyed your breakfast as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you! 💙

Yesterday was a blast of joy in our home as we celebrated St Patrick's Day with a whirlwind of fun activities! We started the morning with the soulful tunes of Irish singers, transporting us to the cherished good old days. As the morning unfolded, we dived into a round of Irish-themed hangman, a game that always delivers laughter and excitement. Our lounge was decked out in vibrant decorations, capturing the festive spirit perfectly. A special highlight was a talented singer serenading us with 1940s classics and lively swing, adding a nostalgic vibe to the party. By afternoon, we gathered to enjoy traditional Irish snacks and refreshments, relishing the taste of soda bread and fizzy club orange. It was a day overflowing with camaraderie, music, and shared warmth, making it an unforgettable St Patrick's Day for all!

☘️ St Patrick’s Day Celebration at The Withens! ☘️

We are looking forward to a fantastic St Patrick’s Day treat here at Withens Nursing Home!

On Tuesday 17th March 2026, we will be welcoming the wonderful Shane, who will be joining us to perform some fantastic live music for our residents. Shane will be performing in the lounge at 1:30pm (just after lunch) and we are sure it will be a brilliant afternoon full of music, singing and smiles.

Our residents always love a bit of live entertainment and there is nothing better than getting everyone together for an afternoon of music and good company. We are sure there will be plenty of toe tapping, singalongs and St Patrick’s Day cheer! ☘️🎶

Family and friends are very welcome to join us, so please feel free to pop in and celebrate with us.

We can’t wait for a fun afternoon!

Today at The Withens Nursing Home we spent the afternoon celebrating the wonderful mums, nans and mother figures who have given so much love throughout their lives. 💐

We welcomed residents, families and friends to join us for a special Mother’s Day afternoon tea, filled with laughter, conversation and plenty of delicious treats. The table was full of cakes, scones, sandwiches, sausage rolls and sweet treats, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

Each of our lovely ladies received a beautiful arrangement of bright yellow daffodils along with a hand cream gift, a small token to show how much they are appreciated. Seeing the smiles on their faces as they received their flowers was truly heartwarming.

A big thank you to the wonderful team at Gravesend Florist on Dene Holm Road for providing the beautiful daffodils that helped make today extra special. 🌼

Moments like these remind us how important it is to celebrate the people who have cared for others their whole lives. Today was filled with warmth, happiness and a lot of love.

🎉 Birthday Wishes for Our Wonderful Kam!

On Thursday 12th March we had the pleasure of celebrating a very special birthday at The Withens! Our lovely Assistant Chef Kam tried her best to keep it a secret, but of course our team couldn’t let the day pass without a little surprise. 🌸

We surprised Kam with some beautiful flowers and a Happy Birthday balloon to show just how much she is appreciated. Kam, you truly are amazing and we are so grateful for everything you do for the home and for our residents every day.

🌸 International Women’s Day at Withens Nursing Home 🌸

Today we celebrated International Women’s Day with a wonderful day full of laughter, memories and celebration of the incredible women in our home.

Our residents enjoyed a variety of activities including reminiscing about their lives, sharing their favourite songs, and talking about inspirational women who have made a difference in history and in their own families. The posters and memory boards sparked some lovely conversations, with residents sharing stories about their childhoods, favourite holidays, first jobs and treasured memories.

Music played a big part in the day as we created our very own Withens playlist, filled with classic songs that many of our residents remember from their younger years. There was plenty of singing along and even a little dancing, bringing smiles to everyone’s faces.

One of the most special parts of the day was hearing the advice our residents would give to younger women today, filled with wisdom, kindness and life experience.
It was a truly heartwarming day celebrating the strength, stories and achievements of the wonderful women at Withens. 💜

🧀🍷 Cheese, Wine & Good Times! 🍷🧀
Yesterday afternoon our residents enjoyed a lovely cheese, wine and crackers get-together, and as always it was a huge hit! There’s nothing quite like a little treat of cheese and a glass of wine to bring everyone together.
The room was filled with laughter, chats and plenty of smiles as everyone relaxed and enjoyed the afternoon. It’s safe to say our residents are always very happy when cheese and wine are on the menu!
Simple moments like these are often the most special, creating a warm and social atmosphere for everyone to enjoy together.

🎉 A Very Happy Birthday to Ros! 🎉
On the 3rd of February we celebrated a very special day for our lovely Ros Jelley here at the Withens Nursing Home. Ros had a wonderful birthday surrounded by her family and friends, which made the day even more special.
There were lots of smiles, laughter and of course a delicious birthday cake, which Ros absolutely loved! She was also gifted some beautiful flowers, making her feel truly spoiled on her special day.
It was such a joy for everyone to celebrate with her and see how happy she was. Moments like these remind us how important it is to share special occasions together with the people who mean the most.
