🌟 Southfleet Superheroes – November Winners! 🌟

We are thrilled to announce that our November Southfleet Heroes are the incredible St Nicholas Church Gardening Team! 🌿💚

It was an absolute pleasure to surprise them with their well-deserved gift baskets, filled with gardening goodies, refreshments, and a gift voucher to spend however they wish. Their reaction was priceless — so much joy, gratitude and genuine surprise!

We also received a lovely message from Lee Coppitters, who shared:
“All the members of St Nicholas Church Gardening Team and I would like to thank everyone who voted for us in the Southfleet Superhero nominations this month. We are delighted that our weekly efforts in the church grounds are so appreciated by everyone. The work not only brings us a great deal of satisfaction but it is wonderful to know how much it benefits the wider community. We are delighted with our prize which will be very useful in assisting us with our work.”

💛 A Special Little Visitor at Withens! 💛

Yesterday we were treated to the sweetest surprise—our wonderful nurse Wanda brought in her handsome little grandson for a visit! Our residents absolutely adored him and were thrilled to have some cuddles and giggles throughout the day.

He brought smiles to everyone’s faces, and our tiny guest seemed to enjoy every single second of the attention. Moments like these truly brighten the home and remind us how special intergenerational connections can be. 🥰👶✨

✨ Armchair Aerobics Fun at Withens! ✨

Yesterday our residents had an absolutely wonderful time taking part in some armchair aerobics! There was plenty of movement, lots of laughter and big smiles all around. It’s amazing how a bit of music and gentle exercise can brighten everyone’s day. 💛

We love seeing our residents enjoying themselves and staying active — here’s to many more fun sessions! 💪😁

✨ Christmas Light Switch-On at Withens! ✨
Yesterday our home was filled with festive cheer as we gathered together for our magical Christmas light switch-on. Residents, staff, families and friends all joined in to count down to that special moment — and the lights did not disappoint! 🎄💫

The trees are sparkling, the decorations are up, and the Christmas spirit is officially here at Withens Nursing Home. Our residents loved the music, the cosy atmosphere and sharing this moment with the people around them.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make today so special. Here’s to a month full of joy, laughter, festive activities and memories to cherish. ❤️🎅🏼✨

A little surprise to sweeten our day! 🧁🥕🧡

These wonderful humans popped into the hospice with a basket full of warm muffins and carrot cake — absolute heroes!
Each month they choose a different charity to spoil, and this time it was our turn.

Our staff and volunteers were thrilled… and very well fed! 🧡✨

🎄✨ Christmas Has Arrived at Withens! ✨🎄

There’s a little extra sparkle in the air… because Christmas has officially come to Withens Nursing Home!

Our residents kicked off the festive season this week by decorating our beautiful Christmas trees and getting creative with their very own handmade wreaths. With Christmas music playing, carols being sung, festive headbands on, and a whole lot of giggles, the home was filled with joy from start to finish.

From spray-painting winter foliage to carefully choosing ribbons and baubles, everyone got stuck in and had so much fun—our craft tables have never looked so magical!

And this is just the beginning…
✨ We’ve still got more trees to decorate
✨ Christmas Jumper Day is coming up
✨ A month full of baking, treats and cosy fun
✨ And of course… we’re eagerly waiting for our mischievous elves to make their cheeky appearance!

The countdown to Christmas has officially begun at Withens, and we can’t wait to make even more festive memories with our residents, families and staff. ❤️🎅🎁

✨ Blue Light Brunch Drop-Off — November ✨

This month we continued our Blue Light Brunch tradition, where we show our appreciation to our fellow emergency and care services for the incredible work they do.

In September we visited Kent Police, in October we surprised Swanscombe Surgery, and this month we were delighted to drop off brunch boxes to Ellenor Hospice in Gravesend. The team were so surprised and grateful — they even chose to share the treats with patients and their families in the clinic. ❤️

The Ellenor team hold a very special place in the hearts of everyone at The Withens, always ready to support our residents whenever needed. It was lovely to give back, even just a little.

Thank you to all our amazing emergency and care teams — we appreciate you more than you know. 💙🚓🚑💛

Last Friday we celebrated Children in Need, and everyone got involved! 🎉
Our staff came to work in their cosy pyjamas and Pudsey accessories, bringing lots of smiles to the home. We held a cake sale to help raise money and, despite the awful wet and windy weather, we’re proud to say we raised £73.20 for Children in Need.

All the cakes were homemade by our talented Chef Gareth and Home Manager Gurpreet — and they were absolutely delicious! 🍰✨

A huge thank you to our families and friends for buying cakes, supporting the cause, and donating so generously. Together, we helped make a difference at The Withens. 💛🐻

🌟 October Southfleet Superhero Announced! 🌟

This month, Withens Nursing Home is celebrating the amazing Southfleet Women’s Institute as Winners of October’s Southfleet Superhero! 🎉

Our General Manager Gurpreet, popped along to the WI meeting at Southfleet Village Hall to present a special hamper to Tina Lucas, the group’s President and Secretary.

The group was nominated for its brilliant support within the local community, including creating a fantastic post box topper to promote the BIG PINK QUIZ in aid of BREAST CANCER NOW.

This week at Withens Nursing Home we came together to honour Remembrance Day with a heartfelt 2-minute silence and a beautiful service led by our vicar. Residents, families and staff joined in singing hymns and taking a moment to reflect and remember.

Throughout the week, our residents helped create poppies and garlands to decorate their home, making the day even more meaningful. We finished the morning with a lovely buffet and time spent together in remembrance and gratitude.

Lest we forget. 🌺
