Winter is creeping up on us, fields are getting wet and slippy, (and horses have no self preservation) 🤦‍♀️

Im already seeing quite a few horses who’ve been sliding about in fields and feeling a bit tight.

Now is a good time to get them booked in for maintenance treatments to keep them on form through the Winter.

Only a few weeks until the shortest day but probably plenty more weather to come. Keep going horsey friends! 💪

Big congratulations to Emily and Nova, great scores AND moving up the levels!

What a day for ADAMO CAVALIERE (Nova) at Speedgate yesterday gaining her Winter qualifications. She completed her elementary regional qualification in style gaining the overall best score of the entire day with 72.73%, and completed her first Petplan Area Medium qualification with 70.33% in only her third ever Medium test, taking the win in this class too! Having only recently stepped up a level, she really is trying her heart out for me, and I am so thankful to get to work with her every day.

ADAMO CAVALIERE at the BD National Championships competing in the Elementary Silver. It was a tricky prep with something not being quite right a couple months ago, no lameness but I noticed she didn’t feel quite settled and so eased off training. After seeing physios and having her saddle checked and finding nothing, Jenny Messer Equine & Rider mentioned it would be worth having her teeth looked at. We immediately contacted Sammy at Equine Dentistry Referrals and she got Matteo out to us urgently, who saw that Nova had mouth ulcers - entirely explaining what I was feeling.
Nova has only just returned to normal work so this competition wasn’t about pushing her, but instead about giving her a good experience, and she was incredible. Some of the test could’ve been so much more polished, but she rode amazingly and I’m so so happy with her. She scored 67.85% and placed 16th of 38 starters, and that was with me riding 3 not square halts, costing us a lot of marks! Considering this was the biggest downfall of the test, I could not have been happier, and I’m so excited to get her back out there.

Also, a very big thank you to Leanne Wall for taking the time to warm us up, it was such an invaluable help and definitely calmed down the nerves!

Huge congratulations to my long term clients Emily and Nova, Adamo Sports Horses, on their regional win at Novice Silver with at whopping score @ Wellington Equestrian Centre … on to the Nationals now 🙌

What a horse! ADAMO CAVALIERE is the REGIONAL CHAMPION at Novice Silver - winning on a score of 71.34% yesterday at Wellington and beating 30 other participants. I could not be more proud of this horse and how she has matured in the last year. A massive thank you to Leanne Wall and Hannah Biggs for their continued support and unmatched expertise. Bring on Nationals!
