- Muffle the noise: Close windows and draw curtains before
it gets dark to minimise the startling bangs and flashes
- Stay warm: Ensure warm clothes are layered up, and hot,
comfortable drinks are on hand
- Offer comfort: Provide reassuring company or a
distracting activity if the noise causes anxiety, especially
for those with dementia.
