The NHS in Suffolk and north east Essex has once again teamed up with local sea shanty group The Motley Crew to produce a song aimed at reminding eligible people to get their flu vaccinations and staying well this winter.

Called Get A Jab And Keep The Bugs Away, the new collaboration with the Brightlingsea-based group follows the success in 2021, when a specially written sea shanty gained nationwide prominence for helping support COVID vaccination uptake.

Since then, a brand-new song – using the tune of the traditional shanty John Kanakanaka – has been created by the 13 members of The Motley Crew, this time with a focus on winter health and the importance of the most vulnerable people in our communities taking up the offer of a free NHS flu vaccination.
