Pause, Soothing, calming
Waves crashing, patterns of lace
Weak winter sun seeps

Escaped to the sea for my run this morning (actually it was a run-walk down a steep slippery slope-sit by the sea and look at the waves-walk back up the steep slope-run…!). There is nothing like sitting by the sea and watching the waves that brings me a deeper sense of calm (apart from maybe mountains).

Wrote a Haiku (above) to try and encapsulate the moment.

Meditation doesn’t always have to be sitting in silence, it can be completely absorbing yourself in the moment ❤️🌊

A good selection of props for a private client this morning. The focus: Just Breathing!

If you struggle with activating your deep core muscles, start with the basics: breathing.

1. Work out when you’re breathing in and when you’re breathing out (load more I could add here, but for now I will leave it as just this!).

2. Practice the movement flow first, without the breath to get it into your muscle memory.

3. Add the breath in - to connect with the deep core you need to exhale on the effort/load lift/load increase.

I’m working on a Breath Basics module on the JBY app at the moment - watch this space!

Tried out in Melksham today after my day of teaching and ticking run 1 of week 3 of my couch to 5k off my list!

It was a cool set up, easy to get into and lovely to have an hour to myself with chance to stretch, sweat it out in the sauna and then shower. I did dip my legs in the ice bath but it was too cold for me 🤣

Do you suffer from cramp??

One of the other teachers on my Yogalates teacher training earlier this year gave us this tip - when you get cramp, pinch the space between the upper lip and your nose to help the cramp stop.

It was tried and tested during my Hatha class last night with one of my yogis (she had cramp in her calf) and it worked a treat!
