Hi! I’m having problems with my emails. Please text or WhatsApps me if looking to book? Thanks 🙏🏽

I’m seeing a lot of posts relating to the NMC ruling on remote prescribing in aesthetics which came into force on June 1st. This brings us nurses in line with drs, dentists and pharmacists who already have that ruling within their code of practice.

I’m seeing a lot of debates on fb forums saying that remote prescribing isn’t illegal and not breaking the law. This is true but what it does mean is that if a prescriber continues to prescribe remotely they are putting their registration at risk. They are going against their code of practice and therefore will likely be removed from the register. It also brings into question whether the insurance companies would still cover both the prescriber and the practitioner?

It seems that those who have based their business around remote prescribing are the most reluctant to accept the rules? These are the people shouting the loudest about it not be illegal. At the end of the day if you’re not on a professional register you have little to lose. Those still prescribing remotely you know the rules of your governing body and someone will be found out and reported. So why risk it for a few pounds per prescription? Codes of conduct are there to ultimately provide patient safety!

So so sad! The 2 people arrested are not healthcare professionals! If non-surgical treatments were properly regulated in the UK these people would not have been able to perform this very risky procedure. Would I offer BBL treatments NO because I know the risks involved and they outweigh any aesthetic outcome. At the moment anyone can set up in business after a few days training and perform these high risk treatments. Healthcare professionals have said for a longtime that something like this was going to happen. It should never have got to this point where someone has lost their life!

Please have a look at the proposed changes to the currently unregulated field of medical aesthetics. At the moment there aren’t any regulations which have led to ‘a Wild West culture’ with everyone and anyone being able to inject.
