Using applied to the lumbar region of this horse to help support the work of my manual therapy over the next few days.

Interestingly this is a horse that I treat on a regular basis and who is a real foodie! Usually he continues to munch hay whilst he has his therapy session, today he was eating away as usual, until I applied the tape, when he stepped back away from his hay (I was treating him untied) and just stood and rested, processing the feeling of the tape gently lifting his hair, speaking to his nervous system. And there he stood whilst I replaced his rugs and wrote up his treatment notes.

With horses (any animals) there is no placebo effect, and as I also know this horse very well, it demonstrated to me the powerful effect this gentle therapy can have 😌

Yesterday I visited Endurance horse Dora for her regular session. Her lovely owner is always great at taking photos (I am rubbish at asking anyone to take them, hence I don't often have any to post πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈ)

Combining massage therapy πŸ–οΈ work with my Fascial Edge Tool πŸ₯„ Cold Laser therapy πŸ”¦ and joint mobilisations 🦴 I worked through her body, nose to tail, to ensure her body was moving as fluidly, optimally and comfortably as possible 😌

I am in love with the dome shaped lens on my .co.uk Pro Laser ❀️

It allows me to massage the soft tissue while simultaneously delivering Red & Infrared light therapy.

It's a thumbs up πŸ‘πŸ» from me and the horses 🐴

Even in the colder weather horses can benefit from Kinesiology taping to support manual therapy.

The tape can be worn underneath rugs and is still just as effective.

Tape adhesive doesn't like the cold so much, so working under a heat lamp is ideal for a good strong application, as well as helping to keep my hands nice and toasty 😌🧑

'Jess' chose to engage with the Geranium essential oil which has mood boosting and calming effects 😌

Even after 6 years of using LLLT as a tool in addition to my manual therapy, I still get impressed by the results from using this gentle non invasive therapy β€οΈπŸ–€

There are many applications for Kinesiology Tape.

Keeping it simple here, this tape application is targeted at the continuation of my hands on therapy.

Aiming to increase blood and lymph flow, promoting healing & recovery.
And stimulation of the nervous system - nociceptors, offering pain relief and proprioceptors, bringing awareness to the area.

A simple piece of K-tape applied with a considered amount of stretch in the targeted area can be a valuable tool. Helping to enhance the benefits of treatment for your horse for as long as 5 days post treatment πŸ™‚
