Are happy people more grateful?

Do grateful people feel happier?

I’m not sure but Heres what I do know.

Gratitude is not a happiness pill. It doesn’t work like that. It’s also not a reason to accept a situation as it is when you know you want it to be better.

True gratitude allows space for a full range of emotions.

Take me, I am down on the Florida panhandle visiting family.

I am grateful to be here and I am also sad, overwhelmed and burnt out by work.

Gratitude allows all of it to be true.

I’m grateful to be spending thanksgiving with my parents, Chris, Oak and my brothers family and I am so so sad that our daughters aren’t with us. this year

I’m overwhelmed by the amount of rapid growth in our small company and feel confronted by my ability to fix the problems it has created for me and our team.

Gratitude doesn’t shame me to accept it as it is - it empowers me to see the good, the bad, the positive, the broken all while working toward making it better.

So Today - however you feel and where ever you are and whatever you are dealing with - be grateful for what is and allow yourself the grace and space to feel what isn’t and … while you’re grateful for what you may have still do whatever you need to do to make your life a little better.

The extraordinary people are those who love you unconditionally and are there for you in the good times and the hard times. We will have very few keepers loves, they are rare indeed. ❤️

Be comfortable in your own skin.
Know who you are.

Understand deeply that what people do is never a reflection of you and is always their perception of life.

You are not for everyone and they are not always for you.

When you are not included, invited, or considered, whisper to yourself, “Thank you for the space necessary in my life for the people that matter most to me. I am blessed.” 🤍
