A little temporary repair to this 1.3 Corsa.

EGR is stuck open, meaning it would barely pull itself off the drive. Unfortunately, I also found that the turbo has failed. 😞

Repairs have been quoted, just awaiting further instruction from the customer.

Firstly, thank you for the kind comments and understanding.

Below is a screenshot of our last convsrsation where I thought the problem was resolved fairly and he seemed happy.

Obviously I didn't sell the car knowing there was a fault and trying to hide it. 🤦‍♀️
The test drive was done from a cold start and we covered about 8 miles before he agreed to the sale.
The car was driven home to Lincoln and didn't show an ABS fault until an hour and a half in to his journey, it was a 'sods law thing' where a wire had worn through for the abs sensor, if I had driven it round for another week it would have happened to me.
Same goes for the chain, problems have to occur for the first time at somepoint, sometimes it is really bad timing (pun not intended!! 🙈).

A refund of £500 was sent to the buyer as I did not want bad press on a private sale, I could have driven up there or asked him to have it recovered back but it seemed silly and stressful so choose to trust the diagnostics of the garage he had visited.

Hopefully this clears things up, I have asked Facebook to remove the review as it is an unfair review and comment.

Buying a car is (to a degree) pot luck, you could be the best mechanic in the world, do all your checks and still have it let you down half way home.

This is why I don't sell cars too often, it's not worth the headache. lol 🙃

DPF FORD Tuesday!!

Two Fords, both with DPF faults, both with underlying problems.

First up was the Mondeo with a blocked vapouriser. Second was the Kuga with a split boost pipe.

Big big thank you to D & A Garage Services for letting me use their ramp this afternoon too!!

Remember, DPF's don't fail without reason, get it diagnosed before replacing!

Quick diagnostic from this morning.
Remapped this Ford Ranger this morning a couple of weeks ago, told today that it has been going into limp mode.
Split boost pipe found, customer was aware that it was damaged and had a temporary repair using electrical tape.
