With the nights drawing in and the weather getting colder, damper and even foggy, it is illegal to drive a vehicle without clear vision through the windows and mirrors.

The Highway Code requires drivers to have a clear view of the road before setting off, meaning all windows must be demisted, free from condensation, ice, or snow.
Rule 229 of the Highway Code states that you must be able to see, and failing to clear condensation can lead to fines, points on your licence, or being charged with dangerous driving if it causes an accident. It's an offense because it creates a dangerous driving hazard by obstructing your view.

In winter check the local weather forecast for warnings of icy or snowy weather.

Returning a Motability car after the primary PIP claimant's death.

Steps to take:

🟦 Notify Motability: Call them as soon as possible on 0300 456 4566
or use their online notification form. They will allow you to keep the vehicle for up to two weeks for a designated driver to use it, after two weeks the insurance becomes void and you will no longer be insured to drive the vehicle. You must do this before using the "Tell Us Once" service, which will otherwise automatically end the lease, and authorized drivers may not be able to use the vehicle.

🟦 Arrange for return: You can keep the car for up to two weeks. If there isn't another authorized driver, Motability can add one so the car can be returned.

🟦Return the vehicle: The vehicle will need to be returned to the dealer. You can hand it back at a dealership (usually the one where you originally picked it up) or they can arrange for a collection.
