Our bake-off sessions continue to be a favourite activity. Residents enjoy trying out both familiar recipes and new ideas, with plenty of involvement from our keen bakers and biscuit decorators.

The results are always enjoyed at afternoon tea, making it a rewarding activity for everyone involved.

We were pleased to welcome pupils from Clyde View Academy for their weekly visits. During their time with us, they joined residents in a range of activities including spring arts and crafts and jigsaw puzzles.

They also helped outside in the garden, preparing the beds for spring planting. After their hard work, everyone came back indoors to enjoy pizza and ice cream together, which was a lovely way to round off the visit.

There was a lovely scent of fresh flowers throughout the home as residents and staff took part in flower arranging sessions. Everyone carefully selected and arranged their flowers into vases, taking pride in their finished displays. The activity was both relaxing and rewarding, and the arrangements brightened up the lounges beautifully.

Valentine’s Day was celebrated in style, with the lounges decorated in red and white. A special Valentine’s themed menu was prepared, and homemade chocolates were placed on each table, accompanied by a glass of bubbly. It was a lovely day, enjoyed by residents and staff alike.

A huge well done to Owen Wyllie and Callum Docherty who have successfully completed their Apprenticeship with GMAS this month. 👏

Over the last 78 weeks, both Owen and Callum have been valued members of our Maintenance Team, working hard while achieving their SCQF Level 5 in Facilities Services through our Apprenticeship Programme.

We’d also like to thank City of Glasgow College and the Workforce Development Team at Inverclyde Council for their fantastic support throughout the journey.

Wishing Callum and Owen every success as they move on to the next stage of their careers - we’re incredibly proud of you both! 🌟

Burns Day was enjoyed by everyone at Bagatelle. The celebrations began with a visit from the piper, followed by the traditional Address to the Haggis. Residents then enjoyed a lunch of haggis, neeps, and tatties.

The afternoon continued with entertainment from Shelagh McKay Jones, who performed songs by Burns along with other Scottish favourites. Residents and family members relaxed with a drink and enjoyed the performance together.

The Bagatelle Bake Off continues to be a big hit with residents, who love getting creative in the kitchen - trying new recipes, revisiting old favourites and, of course, taste-testing the results! As St Andrew’s Day approached, we got into the Scottish spirit by making a traditional Clootie Dumpling, which filled the home with its lovely, comforting aroma.
