🌧️ With set to hit Scotland, Northern Ireland and parts of the north of England today, the Met Office has a number of Yellow and Amber alerts in place. This could mean that there may be power cuts or disruption to power and mobile phone signals.

This is an important reminder to sign up to the Priority Services Register Scotland https://psrscotland.com/ if you are in Scotland or the Priority Services Register https://www.thepsr.co.uk/ if you are in parts of England that are likely to be affected (In Northern Ireland you should contact your utility suppliers directly).

You’re eligible for additional support through the Priority Services Register if you have a chronic illness, this means that in the event of power disruption due to storms or any other events you will be prioritised. We work with utility companies across the UK to help raise awareness of what it’s like to live with CKD. You can find out more about our partnerships here: https://kidneycareuk.org/get-support/cost-of-living/kidney-care-uk-utility-partnerships/

You can also read our Be Prepared guide, which may be particularly useful if you are on home dialysis: https://kidneycareuk.org/kidney-disease-information/treatments/patient-info-haemodialysis-hd/managing-home-dialysis-during-a-power-cut-or-energy-blackout/

Storm Floris – weather warnings:

Yellow and amber weather warnings for wind will be in place across areas of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde tomorrow, but we would like to reassure patients that all our services will be open.

If you have an appointment tomorrow, we ask you not to cancel but to attend as usual. However, we encourage all patients, and staff, to plan ahead, check local transport links and, if necessary, to allow extra time for your journey.

For the latest information on the weather warnings, please go to the Met Office website: https://bit.ly/4migZek
