Over the past few months, our Friday Creative Gardening Group run by Community Support Facilitator Marc Renshaw - along with his Wednesday Art and Sound Group-has been busy developing a new woodland nature area within our gardens. During the spring and summer, our focus was on creating vibrant hanging baskets. These were a huge success, adding colour and charm around the reception area and proving very popular with visitors and buyers alike. Now that autumn has arrived, our attention has turned to a previously forgotten corner of the garden. Although at an early stage, it is slowly transforming into a biodiversity-friendly space, with the aim of winding paths, sculptures, small ponds, bug houses and a mixture of trees and shrubs. This area is already beginning to take shape and promises to be a wonderful haven for both wildlife and people to enjoy. Over time, it is our aim to make the paths wheelchair accessible to ensure that the area will be inclusive to all who access the area. We are also painting a breeze block potting shed which will serve as an outdoor art gallery space over the spring and summer months- displaying the work of service users and staff. We'll be sure to update everyone with the ongoing progress.
