GTACFC Kick Off 2025/26 Lincolnshire Ability Counts League Campaign

On Sunday 31st August, Grimsby Town Foundation’s Ability Counts teams began their 2025/26 Lincolnshire Ability Counts League campaign at the LNER Stadium, Lincoln. It was a day of mixed results but plenty of positives, with all squads showing spirit, teamwork, and excitement for the season ahead.

Premiership Teams

Our Premiership sides had a challenging but promising start, winning half of their games while narrowly losing the others. Goalkeeper Ricky stood out with some unreal saves, keeping the team in the fight and showing exactly why he’s such a key figure between the posts.

League One – A Flying Start

The League One squad couldn’t have asked for a better opening to the season. They scored an incredible 21 goals across four matches, with goals coming from Ben, Josh, Jack, and even goalkeeper Thomas Jones, who found himself on the scoresheet!

Equally impressive was the team’s defensive effort—not conceding a single goal all tournament thanks to some resilient and disciplined play at the back. A dream start for the squad.

League Two – Building Momentum

Our League Two team also got their season underway, picking up a win, a draw, and two narrow losses. With several debutants making their first-ever appearances for the club, it was a proud moment for the players and coaches alike, showing plenty of promise for the season ahead.

The opening weekend highlighted the growth, passion, and determination across all of our GTACFC squads. With new players joining and every team showing heart on the pitch, the 2025/26 season is shaping up to be another exciting campaign.
