We are back baby!! 💥

After an awesome week off I am ready for a week full of pilates!! And I mean FULL!

👶🏼 This week my next gorgeous group of Mamalates girls start the my 6 week postnatal course.
❄️ My next Wednesday series - The Winter Warmer starts… taking us up to the Christmas break 🎄 (WILD!! 🤯)
🧘‍♀️ and of course the usual weekly Monday classes are back tomorrow!! Cannot wait to see you all! ❤️

ALSO at the end of this month I am hosting An Evening for the Mamas with the gorgeous - strengthening your mind and body after a new arrival- and of course delicious snacks too ( 🍪)

If you’re spine is missing my classes this week try this nice extension series- slowwwwww ❤️

This time, just do as many as feels good for you, get in tune with listening to your body 🫶🏻

1. Cobra - just keep elbows on mat if this feels too much 😍
2. Single leg kick- try not to move your pelvis too much as you kick, stay strong in the upper body 💪
3. Back extension- squeeze your hands against your thighs and keep your chin tucked in 🙌🏽
4. Rest position- release any lower back tension ✌🏽

As always listen to your body, do what feels right for your spine today. Have a slight tuck under of your tailbone to imprint lower abs.

A Sunday evening side series for you to save - my go to glute strengthener 🍑

1. Side leg lifts x 10
2. Forward and lift x 10
3. Forward drops x 10 (relax the foot)
4. Bent leg lifts x 10
5. Bent leg circles x 5 (and reverse!)
6. Oyster x 5
7. Side bend stretch

ANNNNDDDD everything again on the other side 😅

Now this isn’t anything particularly new or original but it works 💪 it’s amazing for getting those hip abductors nice and strong and great for the spinal flexors and extensors too.

Make sure your hips are stacked… imagine your leg is being pulled down to the end of the mat and lengthen as you lift, feel a sense of lifting under the waist… and you’re good to go!

As always, remember to breathe…. Exhale to lift and send those ribs in and down towards the pelvis 🙌🏽

🤸‍♀️ 45 mins of postnatal Pilates with – focusing on core connection, realignment & strength
🧠 A soul-soothing session with – exploring strategies for overwhelm, ways to rediscover your sense of self and reflect on the physical, emotional and spiritual changes that come as being part of a mother.

This might be a Friday night – but let’s be honest, they all blur together at the moment. Might as well make this Friday one for you 💫

Come alone or grab your mama bestie- you’ll be in a room full of like-minded women so chances are you’ll leave with some new friends to continue this rollercoaster that is motherhood with! 👯‍♀️

Remember, the postnatal period is totally subjective, whether it’s been 6 years or 6 weeks (minimum), it’s never too late to regain your sense of self both physically and mentally.

This isn’t just self-care… it’s a reset. Come as you are, and leave feeling more like you again.

To all the mamas… 🫶🏻

It’s baaaaack baby 👶🏼!!!

Round two of my Mamalates Series at the gorgeous (and cosy) Holton Studio. A six week course for post natal recovery. Whether it’s ab separation, pelvic floor, back pain or specific area weakness, we will cover it all. The classes progress throughout the series, building confidence and strength back. We work on realigning the body, restoring core connection and inevitable easing aches and pains from motherhood.

This class is purposely small so I can make sure each person gets the attention their supermama body needs and deserves ♥️

My post natal qualification has been without doubt the best extra Pilates qualification I’ve done so far . The knowledge I got from this on how best to move the body to recover makes me so proud and I absolutely love helping people at this time…. WE MAMAS ARE AMAZING!

The definition of post natal is totally subjective, it’s how you feel, whether is three months or three years. As long as you’ve had your six week check (you must have this so we know you are safe and ready to exercise, any sooner could do damage so even if you are super keen like I was, I promise it’s worth it to wait ❤️)

Because it’s a series means we are all in it together, no starting from the beginning each session, no jumping ahead to quick, it’s all part your village!! Plus we have fun too ❤️

I adored Pilates al fresco this summer and not going to lie, I am so not ready for summer to end… BUT I am SO excited for cosy Pilates season to start! 🍂✨

I have purposely chosen the warmest, snuggest spaces to teach in – no icy rooms, no frozen toes, and no seized up stiff starts because I cannot BEAR the cold!!! Just cosiness and calmness so that our bodies feel good from the very first stretch🧘‍♀️💛

Did someone say underfloor heating 😏😏

For when you feel like you want to give that upper body some attention, this series is one of my favourite go-tos that I do 💪

5 x push up or tricep dip (or both if you’re feeling brave 😉)
5 x plank to rest position (staying at a hover)
10 x arm press back in all fours
10 x little pulses
5 x downward dog press

Can you go again… 😏😏

As with all my classes, there are progressions throughout — so choose the level that feels right for you. Not feeling a full push-up? Stick with the all-fours variations. Want more of a challenge? Try the push-up or downward dog press OR build up through them all! This series is a variation on other more classical Pilates I do, but don’t you worry, it’s born from the same foundations of control, precision and mindful movement ❤️ and it’s incredibly effective!
