🤍 GAINSBOROUGH 10k 🤍 One year ago I ran my first ever race, a 5k Trail at Brockelsby Estate. I was pretty clueless and even needed someone to tell me how to put my bib number on! What an achievement that was for me to complete.

The running bug has stayed with me and on the same day a year later I ran the Gainsborough Morton 10k chasing a PB which I managed 🙌.

For the last few months I’ve worked hard, running 3 days a week under the guidance of my amazing run coach Jack and I got what I hoped for 😊!

Running is always more of a mind game for me. Doing things like this pushes me past belief barriers and makes me realise I can do more than I believe I can.

This runs mantra my coach once told me while I was chasing a PB and I said it was hard, he said: It’s supposed to feel hard!

So while at 7.5k and I wanted to walk because I found it “hard” I used this and dug deep because it’s okay if it’s hard. 🫶

Here’s to my last race of the year and to many more PB chasers and friendship maker races. 🥂

🤍 HAPPY MONDAY 🤍 Make sure to take some time out from the busy world around us to turn inwards, move slowly and breathe deeply.

Just 5 minutes of slowing down, moving with intention and take deep breaths can do amazing things for our nervous system and the impact lasts much much longer than those 5 minutes.

So whether that’s attending a yoga class or finding a tiny window in your busy day in quiet room, give it a try.

🤍LOWER BACK PAIN🤍

Try these simple poses for when you have an aching lower back. These can be adapted also to do in a chair if you needed.

Poses:

- Roll down to Rag Doll and back up again
- Cat/Cow Pose
- Child’s Pose with a back massage
- Lying Spinal Twist

🤍 Joy 🤍 This week I’ve been looking out for moments of joy within my daily life. Nothing fancy or special, just joy in the everyday. What I learnt was there was so much opportunity to find joy, you just need to keep your eyes open for it and acknowledge it when it’s here.

Here’s my moments from my camera roll:

1. A lady who comes to my classes lent me this beautiful book as she thought I would love it. I truly do and think I’m going to have to buy it myself. The joy I felt that she thought of me was lovely.

2. I baked this Banana Bread with my daughter. She is 3 and did all the hard work herself. She felt so proud of herself and it was so joyful to spend that time with her watching her sparkle. We all enjoyed eating it too!!

3. Conker hunting! I took my son and daughter to a special conker tree I found that had LOADS of conkers for us. The joy watching their excited faces pick the conkers and then open them to see how many conkers they got was lovely.

4. Another of my lovely ladies who comes to yoga shared this poem with me after our class based around the theme of Joy! I love it and even shared it in my next classes so we kept sharing the joy!

🤍 JOY 🤍 What does Joy look like to you? That morning cup of coffee? A beautiful sunrise on a crisp autumn morning? Savasana?

Everyone has different opinions of joy but we can all find joy in the small, simple and everyday moments.

It’s like Alex Warren says in his song ‘Ordinary’ - “Day after day, we’ll make the mundane, a masterpiece”.

So let’s look for joy this week in the really simple moments. Tag me in your joy moments so we can share and spread the joy throughout the community. 🤍

Here’s to a beautiful week of finding joy in the everyday 🫶

Hi my name is Lorna! Thank you for taking the time to visit my page.

I have been practicing Yoga for over 10 years and have been teaching it for 5 years. I teach a range of classes from Beginners to Vinyasa Flow. I also teach Pregnancy yoga and Children’s yoga. As well as being a yoga teacher, I am also a fully qualified Nutritionist.

I am based in Newmarket but also teach in the surrounding areas including Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds. I am also available for 1-1 or small group sessions.
