Welcome to the Year of the Fire Horse!
Acupuncture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) so we thought you might like an exploration of the Chinese New Year and how it may relate to your health and energy, along with some tips!
🐎 The horse is a symbol of courage, passion and forward movement - spirited energy and dynamism.
🔥 In TCM, fire is associated with:
The Heart and Small Intestine
Joy and spirit (Shen)
Summer and warmth
Circulation and connection
When Fire is balanced in your body, you may experience a sense of joyful presence, clear communication, restful sleep and emotional stability. When Fire is out of balance, some people may feel anxiety, restlessness, insomnia, or heart palpitations.
In TCM, and here at Affordable Acupuncture Guildford, we assess patterns of imbalance, such as: excess heat, deficient Qi (energy), or disrupted Shen (spirit/emotions) by checking your pulse, tongue, and listening to your symptoms. Our job is to then gently bring your system back into harmony.
Here are some ways to nourish your heart and spirit (which cultivates consciousness and joy):
❤️ Nourish your heart with:
🍲 Light, warm meals with seasonal produce
🍵 Hydrating herbal teas like chamomile or chrysanthemum
🗨️ Mindful social connection with loved ones 💕
✨ Calm your spirit with:
😴 Good sleep, if you are struggling with stress, anxiety or insomnia - come for acupuncture
🚶🏻Moving your energy - gentle and mindful movement like walking in nature, tai chi or qi gong will support your energy without adding strain.
And, of course, come and see us if you are feeling the need for a treatment 😊
Happy Lunar New Year from us at Affordable Acupuncture Guildford 🙏🏻
