What is peripheral neuropathy?

Less common causes include compression of a nerve, whether by inflammation, such as in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, or by tumour, both malignant or non-cancerous, or any growth such as by a bone spur. Chemical causes can be poisoning by alcohol or by heavy metals like mercury.

Karen's story

At the age of 49 Karen stated having irregular periods, disturbed sleep due to night sweats, fatigue , hot flushes and anxiety.

Her GP prescribed HRT patches but they only helped a little with hot flushes and her other symptoms became even worse.

After 6 months on HRT Karen started having regular acupuncture treatment with us

After the second treatment she slept through the night for the first time in a year and felt better in other ways.

After the 3rd session she started reducing her HRT dose and gradually came off completely after 2 months.

Her symptoms are now 80% better, her energy has increased and she has taken up Pilates.

*Acupuncture can really help with hay fever*

At our affordable acupuncture clinic in Guildford we have treated many people for hay fever and seasonal allergies over the years.
We have helped many people to ease their hay fever significantly and sometimes even to eliminate it.

Hay fever (allergic rhinitis) is one of the most common allergies and affects 49% of people in the UK.

It can range from mildly irritating to debilitating and can affect a person's quality of life drastically.

The standard medical treatment is anti histamines and decongestants which can work to repress symptoms but don't go to the root cause and can lose their effectiveness after time.
