10 year old me… I think would be proud 😊

I think the 10 year old me would be terrified of the journey she has ahead of her, but empowered by the knowledge that she’s going to be ok. She’d probably still make the same mistakes and the same decisions but she’d make them with complete confidence in the knowledge that her heart and her gut make damn good decisions!

She’d most definitely pay more attention in school!! 🤣🤓

What would your 10 year old self think of you?

A debate held in parliament today on the histological testing of excised moles was led by Richard Quigley MP for the Isle of Wight West and Ben Goldsborough MP for South Norfolk.

The debate called for Zoe’s Law to be enforced by making it a legal requirement to ensure every mole removed - even those for cosmetic purposes - are sent for biopsy and tested.

Why? Because Zoe Panayi (a constituent of Richard’s in the Isle of Wight West) tragically lost her life to melanoma skin cancer — a loss that could so easily have been prevented.

Zoe died just 55 days after being diagnosed with melanoma, aged 26 leaving behind 2 sons aged 7 and 5.

Despite raising concerns about a mole on her back with her GP on 2 separate occasions, Zoe was reassured it was nothing to worry about. Following advice to seek cosmetic removal - a procedure during which (as is current standard practice in the cosmetic / beauty sector) the mole was not sent for histological testing and ultimately cost Zoe her life.

Zoe’s story is utterly devastating. However, her family are not calling for blame, they are calling for change — and Skcin, remain totally supportive of their mission alongside our dedicated work and partnerships in place in the Isle of Wight to drive awareness, education and training through schools, the beauty industry and healthcare sectors.

There was unanimous support by all MPs during the debate and Skcin were pleased to contribute our advice and insight as kindly acknowledged by Ben Goldsborough.

We remain committed to driving positive government engagement and are proud to be already successfully implementing many of the additional awareness, prevention and educational solutions raised in the debate to help combat the UK’s most common cancer, reduce the burden on our NHS – and most importantly, save lives!

✨ “It’s been a pigmentation removal day today!” ✨

Sun damage doesn’t have to be permanent ☀️
Those small brown spots — often from years of UV exposure — sit just beneath the skin surface. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) targets pigmentation, draws it up, and helps the skin naturally shed it over the following days 📈✨

Swipe to see how those stubborn sun spots can fade for brighter, clearer, more even skin tone 👋🏼

✅ Targets sun spots + age spots
✅ Minimal downtime
✅ Helps boost collagen for overall glow
✅ Safe when performed correctly (no recent sun exposure!)

Don’t forget to protect that beautiful skin with SPF daily to prevent sun damage ✨

🗣️ Let’s talk about IPL vs Traditional Laser Therapy

⚡️Both IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and laser treatments use light energy to treat skin concerns — but they work in very different ways.

💡 IPL Therapy uses a broad spectrum of light wavelengths to target pigmentation, redness, and sun damage. It’s great for improving overall skin tone and texture, and is usually safe for skin types 1–4.

🔦 Laser Therapy, on the other hand, uses a single focused wavelength to target a specific issue — meaning it can go deeper and be more precise. Downtime varies depending on the laser type, from 2 to 7+ days.

✨ Whether you’re looking to reduce redness, sun spots, or rejuvenate your skin, the right treatment depends on your individual skin goals and type.

💥 Wow! Just look at these results removing a stick & poke DIY tattoo!

Only 6 sessions — spaced 6–8 weeks apart (with a little extra gap over summer for holidays ☀️).

This one was done in a dorm at boarding school! 🫢
Stick & poke means the ink’s manually poked into the skin with a needle — no machine involved!

I used my 1064 YAG laser on low settings to safely break down the pigment — and the fade is incredible! 🌟

My client’s been amazing with aftercare too:
💧 Regularly massaging the area
🧴 Always using SPF
⏳ Staying consistent & patient

Proof that with the right laser, proper care, and time — even a DIY tattoo can vanish beautifully! 🙌

Just 6 sessions of laser and look at this lift!Bye bye 👋🏻 DIY tattoo
