True NTH redi

True NTH redi Led by the Movember Foundation, True NTH is a large-scale programme which aims to challenge key areas of care in prostate cancer patients.

Academics, clinicians, organisations and patients from across the UK, Australia , Canada and many other countries compromise the international True NTH network. The main aim of the True NTH programme is to better the lives and experiences of men with prostate cancer. Essentially, the scheme is designed to change the outcomes and survival rate of those with prostate malignancy. Due to the treatments used to tackle prostate cancer, and due to side effects caused by the treatments such as fatigue and lack of exercise, obesity is often a very common problem. Because of the way changes in hormones affect metabolism and the way fat is stored within the body, patients who have undergone hormone therapy are also at a high risk of issues such as diabetes and high blood pressure. The combination of obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes increase the risk of developing cardiovascular problems. True NTH REDI aims to improve the quality of life of those who have suffered prostate cancer by offering interventions to reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications.
