IF YOU MISSED OUR EDUCATIONAL TOYS DISPLAY, here are our top tips:
• Choose toys which are open-ended to encourage thinking, creativity and exploratory play. Open-ended toys remain in use for longer than toys ‘of the moment’ which are soon set aside.
• Pick toys which are made to last and offer good value for money.
• Note that the best toys are simple but compelling.
• Go for toys which develop skills and ideas which can be applied elsewhere.
• If there’s a choice, select a toy without plastic e.g. wooden toys.

Looking for something soothing and"naturing" to do with your children. See you in the mud kitchen...

“I had a lovely, relaxing afternoon at Rosamund Community Garden in Guildford with Jane. It’s a very relaxing environment and it was lovely to spend time with my family joining in a range of nature-based activities together. There was lots to see and learn about. We’re all looking forward to the next session!” — Anna Jolley, mum of 2

Every year more than 1 billion pounds of pumpkin gets thrown away to rot in landfills. Thirty-five million costumes are purchased and most are made of non-biodegradable plastic. Plus all the plastic tat, how much must there be of that?

For some children, Halloween can be as exciting as Christmas, and for many parents, it invades their budgets and ‘to DO lists’.

The image above was me with one of our allotment pumpkins a few years ago before I went grey!

No trick or treating for us anymore!

Tonight, I’m actually heading out on a ghost walk in Guildford with my mate Clare 🤣

Enjoy a simple, healthy and green Halloween 🎃
