Another golden Sunday at The Weekenders ☀️💜 our fortnightly carer & dementia social (10:00–16:00) where the kettle’s always on and the conversation flows freely…

🎨 We got crafty making beautiful glass plant pot stakes with Jo from The Glass Ark , we can’t wait till they return from the kiln 🔥✨

🌱 Bulbs were planted in pots with care, we’re already excited for the “look what’s grown!” updates 🌷📸

🍽️ Sunday lunch was a proper plateful of comfort:
Slow-cooked chicken thighs, sage & onion stuffing, Yorkshire pudding, buttery mash 🥔, cabbage, swede & celeriac mash, honey roast carrots & parsnips 🥕 all drenched in rich chicken gravy… the kind that demands a second helping 😋

🍰 Pudding? Classic school cake & custard… made with cream because why not turn the dial up to indulgent 🎉

🫖 Unlimited tea, coffee & juice kept everyone topped up and toasty

🧠 Charlie returned with his brilliant quiz, and yes… the chocolates made their grand tour around the table 🍫

All this for just £15 on a Sunday… not a bad way to spend the day 💷💜

Our very own Patrick Wilson isn’t slowing down after completing the Middlesbrough Half Marathon alongside our BCT Running Club — he’s already onto his next incredible challenge, all in the name of a truly meaningful cause.

Together with Lee Wilkes, Patrick will be taking on an extraordinary 110km walking challenge to support Elsie’s Story.

⭐ Two men. 110 kilometres. One powerful reason — to keep a little girl’s light shining.

On Friday 10th April 2026, Lee and Patrick will set off at midnight from the Riverside Stadium, walking all the way to the Stadium of Light. The following day, Saturday 11th April, they will complete the return journey back to the Riverside Stadium — covering an incredible 110km across two days.

Elsie’s Story was created following the devastating loss of Elsie during the Southport attack. The charity exists to ensure that Elsie’s light continues to shine by creating hope, joy and positive opportunities for children and families.

Every donation will go directly towards supporting the work of Elsie’s Story and continuing Elsie’s legacy.

This challenge is about more than the miles — it’s about a community coming together to remember Elsie and make a difference in her name.

If you would like to learn more, you can listen to Patrick and Lee being interviewed by Gary Philipson on BBC Tees here:

If you would like to donate or get involved, please send us a DM on our social media pages.

Donations can be made ahead of this event, via either our QR code or our link below ⬇️
