Flu Clinics are now available to book at the Practice and appointments are available across both sites.

All eligible patients will receive an invitation by text message, telephone call or letter.

Patients who are also eligible for the Covid vaccine will be offered this at the same appointment.

Please telephone Reception to book.

If you are eligible but would like to decline the vaccine, please inform Reception so we can update your medical record and stop any further reminders.

The Menston and Guiseley Practice are looking to recruit a Medical Receptionist to join our two site GP practice, the role will be based across Park Road Surgery and Menston Medical Centre.

Both part time and full time roles are currently available, between Monday to Friday (7.45am โ€“ 6.45pm).

The Reception team are the first point of contact for patients and visitors and carry out a range of administrative duties, including assisting and directing patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
The successful candidate will be organised, have excellent communication skills and a professional and compassionate nature when dealing with patients both face to face and over the telephone.

The ideal candidate must be able to cover annual leave and absence where necessary.

โ€ข To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures.
โ€ข Computer data entry, processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures.

โ€ข Providing clerical assistance to practice staff as required, including word/data processing, electronic filing, photocopying, and scanning.

โ€ข Cover sickness/annual leave and work reasonable overtime when required.

โ€ข Receiving patients, consulting with members of the practice team.

โ€ข Processing prescription requests from patients, dealing with prescriptions queries from patients and pharmacies.

โ€ข Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary.

โ€ข Taking messages and passing on information.

โ€ข Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, telephone consultations and home visits and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional.

โ€ข Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail.

โ€ข Ensure that system is operational at the beginning of each day and switched over to night service and that the answer phone is operational at the end of each day.

โ€ข Keeping the reception area and notice boards tidy and free from obstructions and ensuring patient information and leaflets are well stocked.

โ€ข Maintaining and monitoring the practice and extended access appointments system including booking/amending and cancelling appointments, ensuring sufficient and accurate information is recorded.

We are in the process of planning this yearโ€™s Seasonal Flu Clinics.

The following groups will be eligible for a Flu vaccination at the Practice from 1st September 2025:
โ€ข pregnant women
โ€ข all children aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August 2025
โ€ข all children aged 6 months to 18 years in clinical risk groups
โ€ข
From October 2025 (exact start date to be confirmed by NHS England):
โ€ข those aged 65 years and over
โ€ข those aged 18 years to under 65 years in clinical risk groups
โ€ข those in long-stay residential care homes
โ€ข carers
โ€ข close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
โ€ข frontline workers in a social care setting without an employer led occupational health scheme

Further updates will follow and all eligible patients will be invited by text, phone call or letter when clinics are available to book.

We will be offering Covid Spring Booster vaccines from 1st April and all eligible patients will be contacted shortly.

Eligible cohorts are:
Adults aged 75 years and over
Residents in a care home for older adults
Individuals aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed
