🌿❤️ Out and About with Brio Retirement Living! ❤️🌿

Today, our Brio Retirement Living team attended Wallington Community Wellbeing Charity Health & Wellbeing Event at Holy Trinity Church Wallington spreading the word about our vibrant Brio Button House community and connecting with so many wonderful local organisations. 🏡✨

We had the pleasure of meeting inspiring exhibitors including Age UK Sutton, Cranstoun Inspire Sutton, Right at Home Sutton and Mid-Surrey, Sing out Sutton and many more incredible people who make a real difference in our community. 💫

A special highlight was meeting the Mayor of Sutton Cllr Louise Phelan and Deputy Mayor, Cllr Cumar Sahathevan, what an honour! 🏅

It was a truly uplifting day filled with community spirit, great conversations, and plenty of smiles (helped by our much-loved Brio goody bags! 🎁).

☕🌼 Coping with Stress Workshop at Button House 🌼☕

This week at Button House, we had the pleasure of welcoming Kaya from Sutton Talking Therapies, who joined us for our Coffee Morning in the Residents’ Lounge. Kaya delivered a wonderful and insightful ‘Coping with Stress’ workshop, which everyone truly enjoyed. 💬✨

The session ended with a beautiful guided relaxation and meditation that left everyone feeling calm, centred and uplifted. 🧘‍♀️🌿

A big thank you to Sadie, our amazing Brio Health and Wellbeing Manager, for organising this inspiring morning! 🙌💚

Workshops like this really make a difference — supporting our residents’ wellbeing and helping everyone feel more relaxed, connected and cared for. 💕

🎃👻 Spooktacular Halloween Fun at Button House! 👻🎃

What a fang-tastic day we had celebrating Halloween together! 🕸️🕷️

Our talented chef kicked things off with a delicious homemade pumpkin soup for lunch – a real seasonal treat and his special of the day! 🥣🍂

In the afternoon, we were joined by a brilliant make-up artist who transformed us into all sorts of ghoulish characters – from spooky monsters to mischievous vampires! 💄🧛‍♀️🧟‍♂️

To finish off the day, the staff’s children visited 20 of our residents who kindly took part in trick-or-treating around Button House. The pure joy on both the children’s and residents’ faces was absolutely priceless! 🧡🍬

A huge thank you to all the wonderful children who joined in the fun – Sicilia, Akshadhaa, Rishidhaa, Marcel, Demi-Mae, Brody, Oli, Aras & Alya – you truly made the day special. 👏🎃

And an extra-special thank you to our lovely residents for making such an effort and helping to create magical memories for everyone. 💖

🏆☕ Winners at Button House! 🎉💚

What a wonderful day we had coming together as a community for our Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning and we’re so proud to share that we raised an incredible £501.23! ✨👏

The fun didn’t stop with tea and cake… 🍰 Fozia counted all 409 sweets in our jar challenge, and with guesses so close, we crowned two winners from Hackbridge Primary School : Angus (405) and Riley Rose (413). 🎉🙌

Meanwhile, our local resident Derek struck it lucky as the winner of a brand-new coffee machine, generously donated by our friends at Patricia Shepherd Letting & Management 2024 ☕💛

And because one celebration is never enough at Button House… we also marked Carlo’s birthday in true style — with not one, but two cakes! 🎂🎂

Thank you to everyone who joined, donated, and supported this special day. Events like these remind us that at Button House, life is all about community, connection, and celebrating the good things together. 🌟

🌱🌸 The 14th Wallington Beaver Scouts are back at Button House! 🌸🌱

Yesterday we welcomed 20 enthusiastic scouts who came ready with their footstools to join forces with our Gardening Club. Together, they planted over 300 bulbs of different flowers – what a fantastic effort! 👏💪

Our wonderful Gardening Club members Rick, Jean, Heliana and Jean were on hand to guide the young gardeners and share their expertise. A big thank you also goes to Andy Copps for helping us organise this special day. 🙏✨

We’ve attached some brilliant photos of the scouts hard at work in action, as well as a lovely group picture in our Residents’ Garden (including one with the funny faces that gave us all a good laugh! 😄📸).

🌷 One of the real joys of Button House is our beautiful gardens. Many people think that moving into a retirement community means giving up gardening – but here it’s quite the opposite! With our large raised planters, several of our residents have actually taken up gardening for the first time since moving in, making it easier than ever to enjoy this rewarding hobby. 🌼

🇲🇽✨ What a Night at Slate & Grain! ✨🇲🇽

Our Mexican Night didn’t disappoint! Guests were greeted with refreshing Mexican Mimosas 🍹, treated to live music 🎶, and of course enjoyed an evening full of laughter and a delicious three-course Mexican feast 🌯🌮.

Our residents truly stood up to the occasion with some fabulous outfits – just take a look at the pictures attached 📸. Sombreros, bright colours, and huge smiles all around! 😄🎩

🎤 The absolute highlight of the evening? Our very own David Jones, one of our residents, performed the classic 1939 hit “South of the Border (Down Mexico Way)” – “She was a pretty picture in old Spanish lace…” 🎶. The whole room was in stitches and loved every moment! 💃🕺

A huge thank you to Chef Harish and the amazing Slate & Grain team for delivering yet another unforgettable night. Here’s to the next one! 🥂
