Hope you all had a lovely Easter break and were able to spend some quality time with family. These moments are so important — giving us time to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most.
Over the next 6 weeks, we’ll be focusing on the pelvic floor and our deep primary sling — the coordinated relationship between the diaphragm and pelvic diaphragm, and how we regulate pressure through breathwork and abdominal control.
There’s often a strong focus on “core strength” in the fitness world, and while strength is important, it should never come at the expense of mobility, adaptability, and ease of movement.
The pelvis is dynamic — each side moves and rotates independently. This rotation continues up through the spine into the thorax, creating the driving force of movement, with the spine acting as a central motor. For this to happen efficiently, we need not just strength, but also mobility and length through the muscles — particularly around the pelvis, pelvic floor, diaphragm, and ribcage.
Interestingly, what we often perceive as “core weakness” can sometimes present as increased tension or overactivity in the pelvic floor and surrounding muscles. By learning to release unnecessary tension, we can create the conditions for more efficient and fluid movement.
Over the coming sessions, we’ll be using a variety of equipment — including the soft ball, Franklin balls, roller, fascial peanut, and magic circle — to help facilitate release and support deeper connection in the body.
Each session will guide you through a progression: beginning with releasing tension, moving into breathwork and awareness, and then gradually transitioning into control and stability exercises.
Using principles of motor control and movement science, this approach allows the body to move from a state of release into one of supported control — helping it find a new, more balanced equilibrium.
This next block is an opportunity to reconnect, release tension, and then build strength from a place of balance, awareness, and ease.
We look forward to guiding you through it.
