I had the genuine privilege of leading a very well attended ceremony at Howe Bridge Crematorium today for a gentleman who was proud to serve His Majesty's Prison Service for over 30 years.
He was an avid Wigan Rugby fan but took an interest in Leigh Rugby too, if only to wind their fans up!
In a quirky little twist, we didn't say goodbye to him; instead we said 'see you later alligator', to which his adoring family replied 'in a while crocodile.' 🐊
It's so lovely when a family puts its own unique quirk into a ceremony.

We had a relatively small ceremony at Howe Bridge Crematorium on Friday for a gentleman who was very proud to serve in The Army, with the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers (REME) in Gibraltar. He then went on to apply his skills to help in building the Barton Bridge on the M60 and The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester amongst other projects.
His family chose some lovely music for him too, including the theme from 'Last Of The Summer Wine', one of his favourite television programmes.
Thank you to Lesley Waterworth and the team at Sankey & Monks in Leigh for making the arrangements.
Rest In Peace Keith.

I was just down the road yesterday at the beautiful Howe Bridge Crematorium to lead what really did feel like a true Celebration of Life ceremony for an amazing and very glamorous 97 year old lady.
The choice of music was simply perfect for the day and 'Look For Me In Rainbows' was one of three poems that were read for her, alongside me telling the story of her long and happy life.
God Bless You Bessie.

A rare Friday with no Celebration of Life ceremony for me so Lynn and I headed off to the beautiful town of Llangollen.
We had wild water, beautiful scenery, a quirky old house and a ginger cat!
What glorious weather we had too!
I'm busy for the next two Fridays but I'm already looking forward to our next Friday on the road.
Thank you Lynn Fulton Davies

I just had to share this post of mine from a year ago. I often speak of how important our pets are to our lives and we've been blessed with Jaspa in the past and with Milo in the present. God bless our furry friends; past, present and future. 😻🐶

More than 350 people gathered last week to say 'Until We Meet Again' to Mick Sutcliffe, affectionately known as 'Mick Sut Builder' in his home town of Todmorden.
The Unitarian Church in the town really was the perfect place for Mick's ceremony and for the story of his life to be told, and his life was indeed a life well lived.
'What's Up' by 4 Non Blondes was the perfect choice to close Mick's ceremony; an upbeat song that was one of his favourites.
Thank you so much to Sally Sutcliffe and her amazing family for trusting me give Mick the send-off that he truly deserved.
Hugs to you all. ❤️
