The skilled team at Bowes House care home provides a wide range of services, from short respite stays through to full-time nursing and residential care, as well as specialist dementia care. The Hailsham home blends old and new, incorporating part of the old Victorian brewery buildings, dating from 1887 into a new-build facility. The home is divided into suites, each with its own lounge and dining room, creating a 'community within a community'. The en-suite bedrooms have a flat-screen TV and 24-hour nurse call system. Ground-floor bedrooms open directly onto patios in the courtyard or garden. Outside, there are herbal, sensory and butterfly gardens, with plenty of seating to relax and spend time with friends and family on warmer days.

🎶 What a fun afternoon! 🎶
Today we had the pleasure of welcoming Steve the Singer for a lively performance! Our residents had an amazing time shaking, clapping, and making lots of joyful noise. The music brought big smiles, great memories, and plenty of toe-tapping energy.

Thank you, Steve, for brightening our day — we can’t wait to have you back! 💛✨

🌡️Very important message from the Home Manager

Dear Families, Powers of Attorney holders and other visitors to our Home.

This year the flu season has hit more than a month earlier than is usual, with cases three times higher than this time last year. This increase has prompted concerns of flu spreading into the wider population in the coming weeks and triggering a “long and drawn-out flu season”.

The flu virus changes every year, so it’s important to get a vaccination each year to ensure your and your family’s protection and to help reduce the spread to others

Many residents in care homes are especially vulnerable due to general frailty or having several long-term health conditions. We respectfully request that anyone with flu or COVID-19 symptoms - including high temperature, cough and feeling tired or achy - should minimise contact with others, especially those who are vulnerable. This includes avoiding visiting those living in care homes if you are experiencing these symptoms. If you would like to arrange a video call to your loved one, if you are not visiting due to illness but would still like to stay in touch with your loved one, then we can help to support with this, please contact Erin.dulake@careuk.com our lifestyle lead and she will be pleased to assist you in arranging this.

When visiting care homes, hospitals and doctors surgeries please ensure that infection prevention control measures are followed, including handwashing on arrival and before leaving the building, and considering wearing a face mask whilst in the care home/doctors surgery or hospital, which will help to control the spread of the virus.

We really appreciate your help and assistance with this, as we strive to keep your vulnerable loved ones safe and well through this winter period.

Thank you

🇬🇧 This Afternoon at Bowes House 🇬🇧

Today, we came together to remember our brave soldiers on this special Remembrance Day. We shared a lovely afternoon tea, reflected on their courage and sacrifices, and enjoyed reading heartfelt, warming poems to one another. The afternoon was made even more special as we listened to beloved wartime songs, bringing back cherished memories and moments of reflection.

Lest we forget. ❤️🌺
