“We humans have lost the wisdom of genuinely resting and relaxing. We worry too much. We don’t allow our bodies to heal, and we don’t allow our minds and hearts to heal” - Thich Nhat Hanh
Today has an air of nostalgia. To purposefully look back and reassess your beliefs. The journey of how you got to where you are? It’s all too easy to forget how far you’ve come and not appreciate what you’ve overcome and what you’ve learnt through your experiences. Avoid dwelling on the messiness but find comfort, lessons, and gratitude.
Today, be patient and allow space for introspection - to calm your mind and body. Perhaps simplifying; on slowing down and reconnecting with your inner child. Do you need to nurture your inner child. Have you been neglecting your needs, your wellbeing?
There is a wisdom in retreat and recovery, in seeking solace and respite. It’s is grounding and productive to allow time to think and revitalise the soul. To reassess where you stand, and organise. Try to move through the day with gentle resilience, patience, and compassion.
Instead of asking,
"Have I worked hard enough to deserve to rest?" I've started asking,
"Have I rested enough to do my most loving, meaningful work?" - Nicola Jane Hobbs
