We wanted to extend a special thank you to our incredible supporters from Our Monte Casino Ball Night! ✨

Following the amazing success of last week’s doo at Casa, we want to take a moment to say a truly heartfelt thank you to everyone who generously donated prizes to our raffle and auction.

Your kindness and support played such an important role in the evening. Because of your generosity, we were able to raise an incredible amount, helping us continue our life-changing work.

Events like this simply would not be possible without the support of local businesses, and we are so grateful that you chose to support us.

From everyone at Invictus Wellbeing, thank you for being part of such a special evening and for helping us make the Casino Ball such a fantastic success. 💙

🌟 Introducing THRIVE Holiday Club in Calderdale! 🌟

Formerly known as Try High, our holiday club has been refreshed and rebranded as THRIVE, bringing a new look and exciting programme for children aged 7–11. THRIVE continues our focus on emotional health and wellbeing, while ensuring every child has a fun, engaging, and supportive experience during the Easter break.

THRIVE combines energetic activities with peaceful relaxation, giving every child the chance to enjoy something that suits their interests and personality.

Throughout the week, children will have the opportunity to take part in:

• Drama
• Judo
• American Football
• A range of other sports
• Arts and crafts
• Wellbeing activities

All while building confidence, friendships, and having lots of fun.

📍 The sessions will take place at Brooksbank School, Elland, from Tuesday 7th April to Friday 10th April, running 10am–2pm each day. Children attending will also be provided with breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

This programme is part of the Healthy Activities and Food (HAF) programme, funded by Calderdale Council, and is free for children who are eligible for Free School Meals.

Thanks to funding from Creative Minds, we were able to provide a series of creative art workshops for our female clients as part of our Women in Mind project.

Over four sessions, clients were able to try a range of creative mediums, including aboriginal rock painting, gelli printing, silk painting and leather work.

One attendee shared: "I enjoyed having an opportunity to create art without feeling as though I was being ‘graded’ and I felt comfortable knowing whatever I created did not need to be perfect."

Another said: "The workshops gave me the chance to meet new people and gave me something to look forward to during the week. I enjoyed being able to use art supplies that I might not otherwise have access to and I now feel more confident to try new things."

We'd like to say a big thank you to Fiona Edmondson for leading the sessions and to Arts Charity Dean Clough for providing the venue and resources.

We would also like to take a moment to shout out Pilgrims Trust - their continued funding and support means that we can continue to deliver much needed gender-specific services to young women in Calderdale.

A big thank you to Jordan and the team at VAC - Improving Local Lives for taking the time to come and meet with us and learn more about our journey as an organisation so far.

Over the past six years, VAC have been an invaluable source of support for organisations like ours in Calderdale, from helping print our lanyards to offering payroll advice and guidance along the way.

They’ve also written a wonderful article sharing the story of Invictus Wellbeing and the work we do. We’re incredibly proud to see our journey highlighted and are grateful for the continued support.

You can read their article here:

In its tenth year, Invictus Wellbeing has become a lifeline for thousands of children and young people across Calderdale, Kirklees, and Bradford.

Today we celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women everywhere!

At Invictus Wellbeing, we’re proud to work alongside incredible women who inspire us every day with their passion, and belief in making a difference. We’re also proud to support and work with amazing young women who are discovering their voices, building confidence, and shaping their own futures.

This International Women’s Day, our team came together to share a simple but powerful message:
“She believed she could, so she did.”

To all the women and girls breaking barriers, lifting others up, and showing the next generation what’s possible, we see you, we celebrate you, and we stand with you. 🌍✨

What a night ✨

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at our first ever fundraising ball at Casa Brighouse. It was an incredible evening filled with energy, generosity and community spirit, and we are so grateful to everyone who came along dressed to impress!

Thanks to the 145 wonderful people who attended, we are proud to share that we raised a whopping £10,637!

Every penny will go towards helping us continue providing timely, accessible mental health support for children and young people across West Yorkshire!

On the night we had special guest, Big Joe Egan, join us to help facilitate the auction, a wonderful raffle, a band, DJ, 2 professional gambling tables and a lot lot more.

An enormous thanks to the team at Casa Brighouse for hosting the event and making it such a resounding success.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to the sponsors, performers, volunteers, and the businesses who donated prizes!

The auction alone raised over £6,000 with incredible auction prizes donated from The Piece Hall, The Shibden Mill Inn, Leeds United, Frame Smart Ltd, Joe Egan and many more.

We are so blessed to have such incredible support behind us 💙

Case Study: Beatrice’s Journey Back to Confidence

Beatrice (not her real name) came to our Employee Empowerment Programme service in December 2025 after taking time off work with a fit note from her GP. Although she had achieved a long-term career goal by securing a graduate buyer role with a supermarket chain, Beatrice was left burnt out and now dreading work.

When she first attended, Beatrice felt tearful, stuck and like she had let herself down. These feelings began to affect her relationships, and she withdrew from family, friends and activities she once enjoyed. Her confidence was low, and her employment felt at serious risk.

Working with her practitioner, Georgina, Beatrice was given a safe space to talk openly and reflect on what had led her to this point. Together, they set clear goals and introduced practical tools to help her manage overwhelming emotions and challenge negative thinking patterns. Through reflective exercises, Beatrice began to rebuild her self-belief and recognise that burnout is not failure, it’s often a signal that change or support is needed!

Shortly after, she secured a new role with a different employer and With ongoing support, including virtual sessions to fit around her new working hours, she developed strategies to manage stress, reduce overthinking and respond more confidently to workplace pressures.

Today, Beatrice feels more settled, hopeful and positive about her future. She is performing well, enjoying her new role and continuing to strengthen her emotional resilience.

With the right support at the right time, young adults don’t just stay in work, they thrive in work!

24/02/2026

Weather might seem like a small part of everyday life, but it can have a big impact on both our mental and physical wellbeing. Short, dark days, constant rain or intense heat can disrupt plans and affect our mood, motivation and energy levels.

Changes in the weather are often linked to shifts in how we feel and behave. Less sunlight during gloomy periods can reduce serotonin levels (the hormone linked to happiness and relaxation) which may contribute to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) or symptoms of depression. On the other hand, very hot weather doesn’t always boost our mood; it can cause irritability, restlessness and exhaustion, increasing feelings of stress or anxiety.
