Our Trainee Funeral Director, Nick Barker, was very happy to receive his British Institute of Funeral Directors Student Membership Certificate yesterday.
He’s currently working towards his Certificate Course in Funeral Service, which will then lead onto a Diploma in Funeral Service.
We wish Nick all the best in his studies 🖊️ 🎓

The sun has set for this well-known ‘Shirley Valentine’ actor today, aged 85 years.
RIP Pauline Collins 🇬🇷 🌅
Let’s hope that she will have a really good Celebration of her Life in due course 🤍

Amanda & Katie attended the Annual Memorial Service at our beautiful Halifax Minster this afternoon, where we remembered those that we have loved, but see no longer 🤍
The Evensong Service at 4pm included the opportunity to light a candle 🕯️ in a loving Act of Remembrance, as the names of our departed loved ones were read out 🤍

This week we welcomed Katie Lumb to our small team at the Parlour, as our new Funeral Services Assistant & Receptionist.
Katie has a number of years of experience in a busy School Office, and has lived most of her life in Halifax.
She has three grown up children & a furbaby 🐶 and enjoys spending her spare time walking her dog, and socialising with family & close friends 🤍

I promised this lovely lady, Betty Barker, that she could go OUT WITH A BANG 💥 and ordered a Celebration of Life Firework pack, from ‘Heavenly Stars Fireworks’ that her adoring husband Granville intends to fire off in December, on a special date 🎆

A very dignified Funeral Service was held for the Cricket Legend, Harold ‘Dickie’ Bird OBE, in his hometown of Barnsley this month - hundreds turned out to say farewell to the famous Yorkshire Umpire

92 and OUT - after a very good innings 🏏

At 4pm on Sunday 2nd November, Amanda will be attending the ‘All Souls Memorial Service’ at our beautiful Halifax Minster - all are welcome to this annual event, to remember those we have loved & see no longer, and to light a candle 🕯️ & add a name (or names) to the list that will be read out during the service 🤍
