When you're caring for someone with dementia, the support and companionship of other carers can be a real lifeline. That's why we've launched a new monthly group for carers. "Together for Wellbeing" met yesterday at the Project C**t Cafe in Elland. We were joined by healthcare professionals from our local GP surgeries and adult social care - providing advice and support in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We’re running a new activity group for older people at Hebden Bridge Group Practice. The session includes fun seated exercises and gentle games like bowling and kurling, making it a relaxed and enjoyable way to get moving again. There’ll also be time for a brew and a chat. Last Thursday, our Companionship Café was full of calm and gentle movement as we enjoyed a seated Tai Chi demonstration from Tai Chi Tigers 💙

Tai Chi is a wonderful activity for older people, helping to improve balance, flexibility, circulation and overall wellbeing – all while being relaxing and accessible for every ability.

As always, the café was a friendly, welcoming space to chat, connect and try something new together.
