Do You suffer with tight Back, Shoulders and neck?
Its getting more and more common for people to develop tight Back, Shoulders and Neck muscles due to prolonged sitting at a desk, driving long distances, or having a physically demanding job.
so why does you muscles ache?
With prolonged sitting, typing, driving Our muscles get stronger it the positions we repetitively put ourselves in, this causes the muscles to get tight and possibly ache.
Once were in this state one small movement is all that needed to put to much stress on the muscles causing them to have a small micro tear which we refer to as knots.
Once a knot has occurred the muscle fibers no longer move freely and lock together around the tear as a means to protect it.
the muscles around the tear gets pulled towards the tear causing tension which in turn makes the muscles close by get tight, causing another tear to occur and this pattern keeps repeating until all the tight muscles get a release of tension and get a good supply of blood to all the effected areas .
A good example for the above is a office worker, maybe working in the office or from home, sitting and typing, we all know sitting for long periods of time is bad for our backs and posture as it makes our backs tight, to go with the the shoulders are holding up the arms to allow them to type causing tight shoulder muscles, once a tear develops in the shoulder the muscle put tension on the muscles which link the shoulders to the neck now this may cause tension migraines and again the best cure for this is to get a deep tissue massage to relax all the tight muscles as well as supplying any tears (knots) with a good supply of blood to bring the nutrients needed to repair the damage.
