What a beautifully busy year it has been!

Genuinely; I have loved every minute - I really do love my job!

Yes ….I’m fascinated with pregnancy, labour and birth!
Yes…. I love babies!

But first and foremost I simply love supporting incredible women and their families to feel safe, calm, confident and really looked after during such a precious time in their lives.

With my own children turning 18 and 16 this year I know only too well how fast those years go by.

Those early days and weeks of being new parents can be tough and a real rollercoaster of a ride!
Anxiety, worry, concern, happiness, joy and love - physically and emotionally it can be so overwhelming.

Preparation is key - planning for your postpartum really can make all the difference.

Postnatal planning is included in all of my birth support packages; I also offer stand alone postnatal planning sessions in your home or a doula ‘power hour’ via video call.

If you are in the midst of newborn life and are feeling overwhelmed, please reach out- family, friends, myself or other doulas - there is always someone that can help ease the load - even if it’s just a meal left on the doorstep!

A lovely review received from one of my summer clients 🤍
For various reasons this lovely family needed lots of support in advocating for their wishes- together with sheer grit and determination, trusting in her body, her baby and instinct and the fantastic unwavering support of her partner they welcomed their baby to the world in just the way they wanted.

Advocacy and navigating the maternity system is often a huge part of a doulas role, knowing your options and rights is invaluable.

What a day!!

Thank you to all the wonderful ladies that joined us for our very first pregnancy retreat today, the chatting the laughing and the confessions of some rather unusual pregnancy cravings … made it so very special!

It was a beautifully relaxing, empowering and nurturing day and we loved every minute.

Overnight support gives you the opportunity to take a breath and catch up on some much needed sleep, rest and recovery time - a hot drink, sweet treat and chat in the middle of the night is also often on the menu ☺️
