Future of tests in the community
You can help the NHS improve how it provides care in the community.

Point of care tests don’t need to be sent to a laboratory and can be performed by pharmacists or paramedics. Results can be available much more quickly.

This short survey asks about receiving tests in this way.

Thank you for giving your valued opinion to help us shape services.

Thank you for taking a few minutes to give your opinion on point of care testing. This will help inform the NHS to shape future services in the community.  Point of care testing is when medical tests are carried out by a clinical professional close to where patients need them, such as in a doct...

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a condition that affects a person's behaviour and development.

The NHS currently has many people waiting for an ADHD diagnosis – it is really important that they access the right support.

October is ADHD awareness month and it is important to highlight the work that has been done at Health Innovation North West Coast (HINWC) to create a new model for ADHD diagnosis and management. This model has been taken forward in Cheshire and Mersey ICB and we are really excited to see how this work progresses (link to the model and report in the comments).

ADHD can affect a person's daily life, including social relationships and school or work performance. It can also lead to poor self-esteem and social function. It is important that people get the right support for ADHD because once on the right treatment path there are some really effective management options for ADHD.

It’s

It’s a day to talk about mental health and it feels right to showcase our mental health work at Health Innovation North West Coast.

The team have been working in the Children and Young People’s (CYP) space for the past couple of years. They have worked to co-design a new CYP pathway with multi-agency colleagues across the North West Coast: see the link in the comments below.

This work has now been taken forward by both ICBs in the North West Coast and the team are doing some focussed work in the area of CYP mental health.

Today we encourage you to check in with friends, family and colleagues. Start a conversation about mental health.

This , get moving more for your mental health by finding moments for movement every day.

When life’s busy, it can be tricky finding time for wellbeing-boosting activities. But finding moments for movement might be easier than you think. Why not use the time you spend waiting to move more? When you’re waiting for the kettle to boil; for your kids to come out of school; or for a bus to arrive. These moments will add up!

Our story

The Innovation Agency is one of 15 AHSNs established by the NHS in England during 2013/14 and covers a population of 4 million residents in Cheshire, Merseyside, South Cumbria and Lancashire; an area we know as the North West Coast. We connect a network of NHS organisations, universities, voluntary sector organisations and businesses and work collaboratively to spread innovations, improving health and supporting economic growth. Much of our work is co-ordinated nationally so we work closely with other AHSNs in the AHSN Network - find out more by visiting: www.ahsnnetwork.com.

We are funded by NHS England, NHS Improvement and the Office for Life Sciences and have also secured funding from other sources for bespoke programmes of work, such as ERDF funding for business support in Merseyside, Lancashire and Cheshire.
