What better feeling than enjoying the views of hadrians wall with a canny cup of coffee in your flask?

We love nothing more than the simplicity and wholesomeness of black filter coffee here at The Mindful Hub - add some milk if you like or drink it like it's intended.

You'll never hear us use these excuses:

It's being cleaned
We haven't got any/don't do it anymore
I'll do you an americano for the price of a filter

We clean our machines regularly to ensure you get that consistent flavour with no stale taste. All of our filter coffee is ground fresh to order - don't want a flask - just want a cup, or two - that's ok too - our machine allows us to do just that. We'll only tend to brew filter when someone asks for it, so its fresh and hot.

Whichever way you're travelling the wall whether you want to sit in and chill, takeaway, or take a flask to enjoy through the day - we're here for you.

We also always have flapjacks, caramel shortcake, and small packs of delicious biscuits from Northumbrian Bakehouse, and a good range of Deliciously Ella snacks which are gluten and dairy free.

We have a range of cold drinks, and you are welcome to fill your water bottles up here too (we don't sell regular bottled water, although we do sell a small range of sugar free flavoured water).

Check our main page for opening times, we're open Sat/Sun/Mon this back holiday weekend. We hope to see some of you over the weekend. We're just around the corner from the AD122 bus stop at Haltwhistle Rail Station - Look out for the signs near the roundabout.

Morning, this morning is our session for home educated children, we’re still open as usual, we’re just hoping to encourage those that are home educated to enjoy a change of scene, in our calm environment, and maybe connect with other parents/carers who are doing the same, maybe a bit of Lego and a bit of me time for parents/carers too? If that sounds like your bag, we’d love to welcome you here.

We’re doing away with pre booking for the moment on all of our brick builder sessions as it just isn’t required at this point in time.

Plenty of plug sockets around the hub you can use for electronic devices if you like. We’re still pushing for WiFi at the moment but don’t have a date as yet.

If you need a bit more quiet than normal and don’t have ear defenders with you, haven’t used them before, or have just forgotten yours, we have several sets in different colours you can borrow whilst you’re here. They are thoroughly sanitised after use ready for the next person.

We’ve had a restock on our second hand children’s books, with a fair few of the ‘worst witch’ series added. These are books from our own children’s collection and for the most part are in excellent condition, and a bargain at just £1 each regardless of the size.

Keith has made a tower of pending sets that are nearly ready to add to our library, just need to find those last few missing pieces. Any there you’re waiting for, or any sets new or old you’d like to see us offer in our collection?

Oh, and did I mention we have lush coffee, and treats, and fresh ground decaf? No, oh well, there you go then! Have a happy hump day and we hope to see you soon.

Home Educated Session

Tomorrow is the first home educated session The Mindful Hub this runs much the same as a Brick Builders session. Come along, pay for a build session and choose your Lego set to build.

The difference being it’s a chance for children that are home educated to get together and the parents/carers to do the same.

We look forward to welcoming you tomorrow.

✨ NEW: Haltwhistle Business Walk & Connect ✨

We’re bringing something new to our local business community…

A monthly space to step away from the chaos of work, get outside, and connect with like-minded people who get it.

Starting at the Mindful Hub, we’ll kick things off with a relaxed walk—no pressure, no awkward intros—just real conversations.

Then it’s back to the hub for coffee, connection, and a chance to share ideas, ask questions, and support one another in business.

Whether you’re just starting out or years in, this is about building a community that inspires, motivates, and grows together 🤍

We’re open today and whether you’re ‘walking on sunshine’, or ‘I don’t like Mondays’, we’ve got the perfect space, tunes, and drink for you.

Walkers and trades can take advantage of our filter coffee with fresh brewed ‘fill your flask for a fiver’. Or if you’re like Keith and just really really like good filter coffee, we’ll fill your flask for a fiver too - no questions asked!

Had a great day everyone!

Another of our goals at the Mindful Hub is providing education and support to the community around us.

Keith is very passionate about education and support around the topic of Neurodiversity, which includes amongst other things Autism.

Keith has invested in training in a program called Cothu (pronounced Ka-hoo) from an Irish training provider called Ausome Training.

Cothu is a neuro-affirming parenting support program for parents and carers of Autistic Children and teens

Cothu is different - whilst most parenting courses will teach you how to 'manage' behaviours, meltdowns, sensitivities, anxiety, school refusal, and so on - these courses assume and teach you how to respond to a child that is already in crisis. Wouldn't it be better to offer support a child that is not constantly in crisis?

Cothu offers parents a different view of their child, and a deep understanding of what it means to be autistic - because the course was designed by Autistic people, with Autistic insight and understanding.

This is a 5 week course (1x 2hr session per week) for parents or carers to be held in person in a calm, and safe space at The Mindful Hub in Haltwhistle.

The aim is to help you understand your child from an Autistic perspective, deepen your connection, and improve your whole family's wellbeing.

You will have the opportunity to connect with other parents and carers that are in similar situations, share experiences, and learn from each other in a respectful, non-judgemental way.

You can be at any stage in your child's journey to join this course. A diagnosis of autism or referral to the pathway either via the NHS or privately is not required.

This course is for adults, it is not for adults to attend with their children or siblings, and as such Keith is open to looking at times to hold this course that work for people who want to attend.

Traditionally these courses are held in the evening, but Keith is open to holding a course during the morning or afternoon if that works better for people.

Although these courses normally come with a fee, Keith is offering to run the first course (all five weeks) free of charge. There will be a break in each session, and drinks and snacks will be available to purchase during the breaks - your support would be appreciated.

If you are interested in attending the course, would like to express a preference of time of day, or would like more information, please let us know - you can comment on this post, or message Keith via the Mindful Hub page if you'd prefer to do so privately.

You can find more information on the course on the Ausome Training Website here:

Have you had a busy week?

Pop in to The Mindful Hub and relax with a cuppa. We have created a calm space where you can relax away from the job list & recharge.

Brick builders is for all! We’ve had so many adults asking if they can do it, absolutely you can! We have a massive range of sets for all ages from age 4 + (this is only because under 4 is duplo sets which we don’t stock)

Everyone is welcome to come in and enjoy the space. We have a floor area with mats and cushions for those that prefer not to sit at a table, or for your baby to have a roll around.

Have a lovely Sunday!

One of the biggest drivers for us opening The Mindful Hub and Brick Builders is ‘cups of regret’.

Anybody that really knows Keith knows he loves coffee, he really really loves coffee!

Yet often he found coffee out and around Northumberland variable, and left him feeling somewhat disappointed. In most major towns and cities there is a range of coffee independants who focus on the quality of their coffee offering above all else, but Northumberland doesn't not seem to offer this to the same extent.

Here at the hub we wanted to build something special, something more than just another place grab a cup of joe. We know there are many places locally you can choose to spend your hard earned cash, and we'd like to think you'd like to give us a try and taste the difference.

We wanted our tea and coffee offering to warm and feed your soul, in a calm environment, rather than costing a fortune and leaving a bad taste in your mouth.

We offer 3 coffees here, a Tanzanian kongoni which we use for our espresso based drinks, a Kenyan AA which we use for our filter coffee, and new in today a Swiss water decaffeinated Brazilian coffee.

We have built a really good relationship with Pumphrey's Coffee over the last couple of years, and we can tell you exactly when your coffee was roasted, not just a best before date that may be. Year or longer after it was roasted.

All of our coffee is ground to your specific order, it’s not sitting pre-ground going stale in a container below the grinder, even the decaf - which as its name suggests is naturally decaffeinated rather than chemically, so no unnecessary nasties contaminating it.

We clean and calibrate our machines every day so that we know there no build up of oils and other contaminants. we know exactly how much coffee goes into each shot and how long it takes to flow through so we know we’ve got it in that sweet spot.

We use separate group sides and wands for decaf and oat milk to avoid cross contamination, and we like to think we pour our heart into every drink we make (even if the latte art isn’t quite there yet!)

For walkers and trades come take advantage of our ‘fill your flask for a fiver’ with filter coffee. Available all day every day.

A large flask normally fits a 10 cup pot just right, and that’s the limit of what we offer to fill for a fiver.

So come give us a try, by yourself, with friends, or with family. We do a canny chai latte that’s vegan friendly with oat milk too (did we mention we don't charge extra for oat milk or decaf)?

Hey, we’re open from 1pm until about 5pm today. We’ve got some lovely gooey muffins from Wilde_Bakes today, choose from chocolate, or lemon and blueberry. There’s also some cookie cups in funfetti, red velvet, and there’s 1 Oreo one left. On special this weekend at just £2.50 each. We also have our selection of quality biscuits, tray bakes, and loaf cakes from Northumbrian Bakehouse too, available in stem ginger, and white chocolate and lemon.

If you fancy a Brick Builders session after school today, we’re quite happy to stay open a bit later so you get your full time without having to rush.

We’ll have our usual selection of great coffee from Pumphrey's Coffee, and regular or oat milk options at no extra cost. We also have a great chai latte, a lush hot chocolate too (and available in a smaller children’s size as well).

We should also take delivery of our second dose grinder today so we’ll be able to offer fresh ground Swiss water decaf coffee going forward too.

We’ll post a little more about our coffee later today, but the sharp eyed ones of you will notice we’ve changed our logo for The Mindful Hub slightly to incorporate ‘coffee and community’. It’s central to our business here, and we think perhaps some people may not have quite understood what we’re all about just yet, so we’re happy to make things a bit more visible.

We hope to see you this afternoon or over the weekend. Pop in For a chat, leave with a great coffee under your belt. Have a fab sunny day!
