Wetwheels Hamble is running Superhero Trips from Mercury Marina between 2nd – 4th May, and you’re invited to suit up and set sail! 🚤💨

Join Wetwheels Hamble for an action-packed, accessible powerboat adventure on the water. Capes, masks, and heroic outfits are very welcome — whether you’re Batman, Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, your own original superhero or a real life hero sailing with us! 🦸✨

A big thank you to Southampton Parent Carer Forum for inviting Wetwheels Hamble to be part of your fantastic fun day at Oasis Academy!

It was a pleasure to meet and interact with so many wonderful people throughout the day. We loved having the opportunity to share more about what Wetwheels does and how we help provide accessible powerboat experiences for people of all abilities.

🛥️What a fantastic weekend of Wetwheels Solent boats - (Wetwheels Hamble and WetwheelsPortsmouth) Volunteer Crew training!

The hands on training included:-
✅ Boat Layout
✅ Emergency Procedures
✅ Lifejacket Procedures
✅ Man Overboard Procedures and Equipment
✅ First Aid equipment overview and usage
✅ Wheelchair loading, strapping down and moving while afloat
✅ Standard Operating Procedures

👍 A total of 68 exceptional volunteers fully trained including 12 new volunteers now ready for the 2026 season which starts next week 🛥️💙

Fishing is, in theory, a very calm activity.

You sit quietly. You wait. You contemplate the sea, life, and possibly sandwiches.

In practice, of course, there is also the small matter of excitement. Because once the line tightens, things can become surprisingly lively.

This is why Wetwheels Solent fishing experiences are such good fun.

Our barrier-free powerboats make it possible for people of all abilities to head out onto the Solent and enjoy proper sea fishing. Not from a pier, not from the shore, but out on the water where the fish tend to live.

It is a chance to learn the basics, enjoy the thrill of the catch, and spend time at sea with family, friends, or fellow anglers and because Wetwheels is built around accessibility, the experience is designed so that people who might otherwise find boating difficult can take part fully.

There is something wonderfully democratic about fishing. The sea does not particularly mind who you are. It simply offers the possibility that, with a bit of patience and a bit of luck, something might tug back and when it does, it tends to produce a great deal of smiling.

After a brief unscheduled adventure, we’re hoping to confirm that Samba the escapee capybara will be joining the team.

She’s currently in training, working hard on key maritime skills such as:
• Sunbathing with professionalism
• Snack supervision
• Looking unbothered at all times

We’re confident she’ll be a natural on the water this season… assuming she doesn’t wander off again.
